    It's only a game...Well sort of - TSA part 2

Allegedly, TSA agents are being told to tell kids "enhanced" pat downs are some sort of game in order to get some form of compliance. Don't freak out. The "enhanced" pat downs aren't applicable for the under 12. You can rest easy knowing that your teenagers are going to be groped, forgive me, properly patted down. You don't want them to have the full body scan and hey it's for the sake of security. What's that? You don't mind the full body scan? But what if your kid prefers the pat down for "personal" reasons.

    http://www.techdirt.com/articles/201...-experts.shtml

It's nothing short of a miracle that lawsuits haven't been filed. It may only be a matter or time. The only thing needed is to establish that a TSA went overboard with the patting down. As if that hasn't been happening:

Don't fondle us. We are Canadian.

Why would a lawsuit be filed? Are the TSA agents threatening every passenger by "Forcing" them to be patted down?... Of course not, everyone has a choice, if they want to fly they need to comply with the added security, If they don't like the new added security then take another form of transportation.... Take a Greyhound Bus or a Train, or if your flying overseas then take a ship, you can get to just about anywhere in this world without flying you know.

Actually I agree with you 100%. There are other means of transportation. The TSAs are only doing their jobs after all. But you know people. Someone may accuse a TSA of "enjoying" the pat down process and make a false claim. Hard to prove given the nature of these "enhanced" pat downs but that's all it really takes.

I thought you were referring to the pat down procedure itself, my mistake.... Yes, I think lawsuits that claim "misconduct" are inevitable, I would agree with you on that.

But I as a parent have the right to choose what procedure I want my child to submit too, I don't think it's entirely up to the teen who's under the age requirement. Don't all teens under 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian?

Not necessarily. Kids are allowed to fly without parents or guardians. The airlines have to be informed so they are looked after.

Some parents prefer the pat down for themselves and their kids. However, when their kids are involved parents generally become hyper-sensitive. It's one of those cognitive dissonance situations. TSAs ought to be cautious while performing body checks in such regard.

Just another example of how simple minded people in high places are. Stopping a bomber by rubbing my crotch and swipping breasts, really?

It would appear the terrorists have won, at least to a point.

I don't like to look at it that way South... I don't know if your aware of the Bojinka plot... An Al Qaeda plot that was uncovered by the Philippine Government where they planned to use commercial airliners to fly them into Government buildings in a number of Countries... A plot where our Government warned the USA in 1995, A warning that went completely ignored by the Clinton Administration.

Anyway, the reason I bring this up is because I was flying in and out Manila to Singapore and other countries when all this was going on, I witnessed the transformation of Airport security first hand, And let me tell you, the changes they made after the Bojinka plot was uncovered was drastic..... Never before did we have to remove our shoes, Not be allowed to carry liquids, Submit to our carry-on bags being hand searched twice before boarding the plane, or have our check-in luggage opened and inspected, They even used armed undercover agents on the planes. These were all new measures put in place to prevent terrorism and you know what? IT WORKED.... We were not the victim of a terrorist attack because the Philippine Government and other Governments took the threat very very seriously, unfortunately the USA under Bill Clinton did NOT.

So try not to look at it like the terrorist's won, try instead to look at it as preventing another attack and saving lives.

I understand. And that's why I say "to a point". It just seems to me that this is a part of what terrorism is about. Creating chaos & confusion among the people you are terrorizing/intimidating, causing infighting amongst them, etc.

I would agree with that, and let's add "Fear" into that as well...

I don't consider myself a pessimist, but when you look at how long terrorism has existed, I honestly don't think we'll ever defeat it, at least not until we make them fear US more, You see I don't think they fear us at all, their laughing at our system, Laughing at our torture policies, Waterboarding to them is not torture at all, Chopping one limb off at a time until they talk, that's torture.... I'm not suggesting the US should do that, but what's wrong with handing these bastards over to a Country where torture is the norm and allowing them to do it?, or is the CIA doing that already?

I just think were too soft on a lot of fronts, like refusing to use racial profiling in defeating terrorism, WTF is that all about? We know what Nationalities these people are right?, I think we can give the little white boy or the 90 year old white grandma from Oklahoma a little more slack than a dark colored guy wearing a towel on his head... If anyone want's to call that Racist then go ahead, I really don't give a crap.

The terrorists have won because the US and allied governments have stooped to the level of terrorists.
The TSA is just a sham to show how the authorities care for their citizens. You bet they care, that's why they treat you like a potential criminal. Think of it like a crowd control experiment, and a glimpse into more of the things to come.

In fact having to deal with rude TSA employees is still better than being placed on a no-fly list for no reason, with no way of getting out.
Freedom of movement, but not for everyone.
Of course there is no room for common sense in all this

I think your right, I saw some live video the other day of US Soldiers beheading some Arab tourists in Kansas, One US soldier even went to the families homes and killed them too, reportedly they detonated a bomb into the room where the children were sleeping. And just last week US Soldiers hijacked 3 Air India planes and flew them into the Taj Mahal killing 3000 innocent people, But it doesn't stop there, the CIA is using mentally retarded children as suicide bombers to go after more innocent tourists.

It's absolutely shocking at the level the US Government has stooped to.
