It doesn't get much more blatant than this.
Glenn Beck works his audience into a frenzy over the government and how they are ruining the economy and then tells his followers to invest in gold. He does this while being a sales person for a company selling gold during his show.
This three minute twenty five second clip from The Daily Show is pretty cut and dry as to how shameful Beck really is:

This kind of shilling should be illegal without a constant disclaimer on the screen that he profits from the activity he is pitching, and that his opinion is not unbaised.
The Daily Show is a MUST WATCH for every American. It's sad that the most balanced news can only be seen on a comedy show.
You have to see how Jon Stewart ripped the screaming Fox financial guy a new a-hole when he got caught pumping various stocks in companies that were openly engaged in fraud and being shut down. The guy looked like he was gonna cry... and admitted "I really just read press releases".
I did not buy when it is at $500 to $700.00

This is hilarious. Do you people realize that Beck has been invested in gold for years prior to his endorsement for Goldline? I'm thinking probably not. Is it bad advise? Hell no!!! The dollar will continue to tank and may even collapse completely.

If you want really unbiased news, read a friendly foreign country's world news section. They have no stake in it, so they're generally calling it like it is. I recommend the Beeb.
Either way, the point still stands that whether he's been engaging in investment personally, he should not be using his position to endorse a product when he's not a qualified or certified financial adviser, accountant, broker, or planner.
Personal use of the service or not, he no doubt has someone to take care of his investments for him who is educated in these matters and will naturally see a substantially better return "the little guy" who buys in and inflates the price of the commodity... which is generally the point at which the person advertising it, but not beholden to financial regulations backs the F out thanks to the massive rise in value.
It's called Pump'n'Dump, and B-list celebrities actually do it on a regular basis where legislation doesn't prevent them from doing so.

You obviously don't watch the show. If you had, you would know that Stewart (like most of the intelligent world) knew that Bush (and Palin) were absolute retards, and ANYONE is better than the 'party of retards' aka Republicans.
The Daily Show has taken Obama to task on almost every show, particularly over re-using speeches and failing to put convince his own party on health care. Had you actually seen the show you're talking about, you would already know that.
Not to mention that Jon Stewart's show is a comedy show mascarading as a political show whereas Beck's show is a political show mascarading as a comedy show.
People tune in to Stewart's show to be entertained and knowingly tune in to be entertained. Perhaps being hosted on the Comedy Channel might be a tip-off or perhaps many people have failed to make that connection.
Beck investing in gold is not the issue. Doubtful people tune into Beck's show to get the spot price on precious metals.
Again, we are commenting on the ethics on non-disclosure and my previous point stands -

For the most part, The Daily Show plays a recent video clip by a politician, then plays a clip by that SAME person from the past contradicting himself, and Jon makes funny faces and comments.
If a politician is caught in a lie by his own words, and Bush/Cheny was many, many, MANY times, that's not "unbalanced" reporting, that's just a clue that the politician is a frequent liar. Don't blame the messenger.
