I'm a Christian myself so that's not what I meant. What I meant was that I think it's more disturbing to watch animals being tortured than humans.

I'm glad to hear that... I actually did not watch the video and I don't think I want to.

The right to watch dog fights actually went before the US Supreme court recently, they ruled in favor of allowing them on the grounds of right to free speech, if you can believe that. The only dissenter among the 9 judges was Alito. I agree with Alito.

The Supreme Court upheld the death penalty too so they are being consistent in a way.
BTW I heard that in some states executions are public, I mean that is sick.

I just read recently that we still use the firing squad in the US. I had no idea...

As far as I know the only state in the US that uses firing squads is Utah, and it was by prisoner request only. It was not the standard method.
I believe it was banned a few years ago.

Who wants to watch dog fights anyways. I remember watching a documentary a few years ago. It was a journalist who went undercover to infiltrate a dog fighting ring. The journalist got close and personal with the man "in charge" of the fights, who also bred dogs for fights. There was some hidden camera footage where he executed a dog using electricity and you could see him just laugh while he tucked the dead dog away.

Anyways .. He and his butt ugly wife was caught by the police in the very end and I think he got 3 months in prison and he was also not allowed to breed dogs for five years.. !! That is a ridiculous punishment which only shows how little animals actually are worth in our society. He should have gotten the death penalty. Torture the bastard to death and broadcast it on live TV so everyone can watch (and laugh). Nothing provokes me more than animal cruelty.

    i agree
the punishemnts are beyond a joke
its the politicians who could push new bills through for sentencing but obviously there is no desire by them. simply put they don't give a damn
same story all over, same in UK. when cruelty happens they get off with a slapped wrist

i think the owners or whatever should be thrown in a cage like the way the cruel bastards in china treat bears. just give them a bowl of water and let people poke fun at them for the rest of their lives

it always upsets me to see those images of bears being treated like that. truly sickening

also everyone stop trading with china fullstop until they sort their animal rights and human rights problems out
although not domain trading as i have some very good friends who are chinese

seriously though, i view animal cruelty same as if you did to a human, should carry same sentence
same rigorous upheaval is needed for food farming too

If you ask me, Michael Vick got off waaaay too easy.

And with the NFL's high standards of team players, you would think they would of banned this sick a-hole from the NFL... I don't about you, but I was stunned when I found out they let him back in.
