I think what Gee is saying that there is a huge outcry over the incident he posted (7 police officers responsible for the death of one homeless man) yet in the countries where there is a lot of unrest (Tanazia, Lybia, Egypt, Syria, etc.) the police and military are constantly shooting at (allegedly) peaceful protesters and it isn't being reported much, if at all.

Gee, this is a twisted world as you know
I feel really bad for the guy and his family, glad the press and the local residents are all over this.
However, in your country Mubarak is in court. No?
Family arrested and awaiting trial.
Tell me exactly where bush, rumsfeld, cheyney, blair etc are?
Do you think they will ever see a courtroom? They have the blood of hundreds of thousands on their hands.
I sincerely hope so.
So in some way there is more justice in your country currently with regards to seeking justice for those that have abused power and betrayed the people they were in charge to protect and obey.
Also don't think for a second those police officers will be doing life sentences. There will be a host of 'mitigating circumstances'. Evidence will be 'lost' etc
We live in hope though that the right decisions are made by the courts everywhere.
Actually in the US, we are spoiled. Even criminals have it much better. In the US, we are interrogated with laws on our side. In other countries...what laws? The interrogate the hell out of suspects until they confess or are made to confess to something that they did not do to stop the interrogation. I think Gee is saying that in the US, we have it better.
For the suspect..well, it is his family's fault and responsibility. Why didnt the family make him take his medicine or prevent him from doing such actions? they cant so they fed him to the lions on the street. He is actually lucky to have survived that long. If it were in Texas, he would have been shot lawfully by the owner of the car burglarized (Castle Act).
It is unfortunate, but society ate him. Personally, I would rather have my child walk to school in a safe neighborhood than having someone roaming the streets causing crime.
I was mortified when I heard the video. Could not see much in the one video released,
but twice during the beating, you could hear him crying out, "Dad! Dad! Dad!"
His father is a retired police officer.
Honestly, it sent chills through me and was horrifying to hear that.
