What it is is patronizing and I'm sure for some demeaning and the extemists would say expoitive. Truthfully, I don't care, as I have the power to choose the website I visit and places I eat. But I'm sure many (with a lot more time than I have) would take issue with this strategy.

As for me, like many self respecting hispanics (or _____________) would be no more motivated to go by a big mac and fries cos, as you have called it, smart marketing. On the contrary, if I went to buy anything, and I mean ANYTHING, and their sales pitch was kissing my ass cos I'm hispanic, I'd go somewhere else. I don't believe in this anymore than I do affirmative action. Sell me your burger cos it's the best burger in town, or at least the one I like, not because you're trying to appeal to a certain segment of the population. Same for a job. Don't offer me a job because I'm hispanic and you happen to need a hispanic to meed your affirmative action minimums, give me a job cos I'm the best man for the job.

Not a big deal they should support the black community but if they were to do a site called 365white.com or 365caucasian.com there would be outrage all over. Lots of double standards in the world today. And I would be curious about all those companies you talk about not having black owners ... and why that its ... if it is true I would like to see the studies. Then if true .. why all these major companies haven't been called out on it ... I think in many cases it is just too expensive to buy into a franchise. I know myself and friends looked into some opportunities and were blown away by the requirements.

For instance ... this was a number of years ago ... but we inquired with El Pollo loco and they wanted people to open 5 stores at a time and besides the working capital wanted there to be 5 million in liquidity. Found things like this along with many regions being taken for other franchises to be common. So I am not sure whether its a case of minority discrimination or just that it just costs too much damn money to get into the large franchises. Jesse Jacksons family did very well in Chicago with the largest beer distributorship in the state. Any how ... inquiring minds.

JJ and other blacks are able to get liquor distributorships because that industry preys on that community.
there are liquor stores on almost every other corner in minority neighborhoods.

wmloz i know you didn't say it was racist, that came from the OP's implications.

and everything you say, i could agree with in a perfect world, but it's not.

there is still racial discrimination in housing, education, public and civil services, medical care, insurance, financing and every other aspect of life for the minority.

there has been great progress and although it may not be as obvious like in the 50's and 60's, it's still exists.
