"UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has asked the world's science academies to review work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)."
what's the point when he says;
Now that's going to be an impartial revue - my arse!"Let me be clear - the threat posed by climate change is real," said Mr Ban, speaking at UN headquarters in New York.
Robbert Dijkgraaf is one of the co-chairs of the InterAcademy Council and he is a well-known and respected scientist. He is a Spinoza Prize winner and I can see no reason why he should give up his independancy. He just cannot take the risk as it could be the end of his career.
I think Czech President Vaclav Klaus described the IPCC best;
"Global warming is a false myth and every serious person and scientist says so. It is not fair to refer to the U.N. panel. IPCC is not a scientific institution: it's a political body, a sort of non-government organization of green flavor. It's neither a forum of neutral scientists nor a balanced group of scientists. These people are politicized scientists who arrive there with a one-sided opinion and a one-sided assignment."
When does his term finish Ban Ki Moon?
