I like to see some statistics on how many people were on welfare in 2000 as apposed to now because I think your statement is incorrect.

Republicans: The party founded to fight the spread of slavery before the Civil War, it now stands for smaller government and less federal spending, especially with the goal of balancing the Federal budget.

True Republicans are the fiscally responsible ones.
Too bad that really isn't what the republican brand means anymore.

If the republicans truly stood for making sure you have a dollar saved for every dollar spent then the USA would be better off.

Corporate welfare makes me sick. So, until I see the Republican Party (as in groups and masses) show real dollars saved before spending them, the republican brand is totally in the toilet!

Any one who carries a personal debt (outside of business) cannot be a republican imo.
Average US house holds carry over $10,000 in debt and let's call the middle class "average" which is around 100,000,000- 150,000,000 people.
You do the math and tell me who these republicans are?

They would never allow the credit industry the loopholes and welfare if they held any sense of the concept of republicanism.

Regan blew the deficit by how much? Bush blew the deficit by how much!
Not sure you can really call those people true Republicans.

The truth is there are people on the right and people on the left. You're obviously one who can't make up his mind but the man you voted for sure has.

Your statement doesn't make much sense. He's not blaming the poor but the slackers who don't pay income taxes. That number is somewhere around 40% of the US population. These people live off the other 60%!!!

Slackers? What do mean me exactly? I'm the offspring of a 16 year old mother who put food in my mouth for 3 years with food stamps, she had a full time job while this was occurring mind you. At that time my 17 year old father worked 70 hours a week in a print shop a state away to save money for a more "socially acceptable" housing arrangement. Am I the social trash you speak of? I'm white, my family is now well off, I've graced the halls of one the oldest universities in the world on a full ride academic scholarship, my forefathers have bled for the United States. Do I pass your human value test?

People like this -- upon investigation -- seem to always turn out to be frauds.

Just like "Joe the Plumber", the guy who
    - lied about his name
    - was working illegally without a license
    - lied about having $250,000 to buy out his boss
    - was not paying his taxes
    - had been on welfare in the past
    - would have had LOWER taxes under Obama had he told the truth

What is it with "flag waving" Republicans and dishonesty? It seems to go hand in hand.

It takes more stories like yours (seraphim), to help people understand that right of passage is earned, not bestowed and respect is born from responsibility and accountability.

Leaning on shoulders, and providing a shoulder is the foundation of all human activity.

We don't always choose our path or our destination, but by the grace of others and our good fortune to find the resolve of mentors we choose, we can accommodate the differential gaps that take us from zero to hero to zero and back again.

Happiness is not born from riches, but from the journey.

I admire all people who have the courage, fortitude and freedom to express their views. Whether I like them or not is an individual acrimony I play with my own mind.

If the facts were black and white we would need no middlemen and corruption would find few friends.

As a simpleton, my solace comes from finding a way to make best of the journey - no matter where I find the cards laying.
