    Disturbing.

    Oops, wait a minute.

It's actually just a little fizzle rather than skyrocketing...

Nearly $2 a gallon increase in only 5 months?, that's quite a "fizzle"

If we use your logic by suggesting Obama is responsible for the low price of Gas 5 months ago, he must also be responsible for the high price of Gas today, Yes?

Obama has done nothing or any of our leaders for that matter, to get the price of oil down even though they have stock piles of it right now, oil co's keep break their history breaking earnings record high each time.

They use to keep heating oil prices low but this time it cost more then gas, and the cost of heating with oil is very high here in the north, I went to natural gas and it's not as high as oil. I also see everyone still driving their big SUV's, 50% of the autos around here are big gas hog's, and the high price of gas has not got them to drive smaller auto's yet.

Yes...and our government keeps giving them $$4,000,000,000 a year (thats 4 BILLION) from our tax funds.

If my math is correct thats almost 11 MILLION DOLLARS A DAY we're giving away free of charge to the greedy oil rich bastards thats gouging us for every cent they can get at the gas pumps while they continue to break profit records every time they report.

Make no mistake about it...its the republicans who are supporting this insane policy!

You had Obama and a Democratic majority in BOTH houses of Congress for 2 FULL years, and your side didn't do a damn thing about it... Nobody is buying the "Blame Republican" line anymore.

Fact is; Gas is high because were too dependent on oil imports, were importing to much overseas... And the reason were importing so much is because of the environmental nut jobs in congress who restrict drilling for oil HERE in the USA.

Hopefully by 2012 when I Obama is kicked out of office, we can "DRILL baby DRILL!".. I love that Palin line

I'm not blaming Obama, all the Liberals who blamed Bush when the price of Gas spiked over $4 a Gallon are "Blaming" Obama.

BTW - the gas spike from a few years ago was from speculators. People buying gas for (month) delivery, then they'd resell it for a profit, and then that person would resell it for a profit. It's traded like stocks.

The administration allowed it a few years ago and I'm sure it is wy gas is going up now, and the current administration is allowing it. BOTH sides are allowing it. It's not something Obama or Bush did, it happened under both watches so either it's ignored (or supported?) by our government or the lawmakers are in on the action. This hurt the economy and I'm sure it'll happen again. All these people care about it padding their 7-10 figure bank accounts and clearly don't care about the damage they do to the US (and global) economy.

Plus, demand is getting higher with little increase in produection. China is using more oil than it ever has. I'm sure other developing nations are pulling in more oil, too, which will also raise the price.

I remember reading that gas companies would buy patents on alternative fuel sources (corn oil, fuel cell, etc.) for a pittance (maybe a million if the inventor was lucky) and just not do anything with it to keep their hold on our wallets.

    And today's numbers...

Thursday's decline of $9.44 per barrel, or 8.6 percent, brings the week's loss for oil to $14.13, or 12.4 percent.

    Today's close? $99.80.

The entire market is speculators and, unfortunately, has nothing to do with supply and demand at this point.

So far obama has not help the poor like he said he would, in fact republicans and dems are gunning to make cuts on SS, and medicaid PA has already start making cuts in medicaid.

Funny how they pay for their waring over oil, and bailing out big banks and auto makers, they take it from the poorest and sickest of us in the USA. We have not even got a rise in 2 years in fact the state took $6 from us, rised our copays and made cuts in what doctors can do and what meds they can give us, and cut how much fuel help we get, even through heating cost went through the roof.

When are people going to get it our leaders are playing both sides while we all pay for it, until we the people get that and force them to change how they get money to get into office, they are going to beholding to big co's. Big oil have the repubicans in their pocket because they paid to get them into office, it's that simple why would they spend millions and offer to take no pay even, for a job that pays 100k to 150k per year.

People need to wake up they sure are not wanting to take a job and not get paid, unless there are much bigger pay offs for them in the end, and that pay offs coming out of people's pockets or taking away peoples rights. With new laws they find away to sell to the people, they stop caring about people and feel it's 100% fine to out right lie to get into office, and all the while both party's playing people for suckers.
