Obama Delivers On Promise To Fight Global Warming...

I received this email today, 01/26/09, concerning the fight against man-made global warming. Unlike his predecessor President Obama is keeping his campaign promises. How Refreshing Is That!!

    "Dear NRDC Supporter,

Less than a week into office, President Obama announced monumental decisions this morning that show America and the world that he will lead our country in a bold new direction to protect the environment and fight global warming.

The President directed his EPA to immediately review the Bush Administration's denial of the right of California and other states to set global warming pollution standards for new cars. He also directed the Department of Transportation to set higher national fuel efficiency standards.

What will that mean in the real world? If Obama's EPA, as expected, approves the California program, new cars sold in that state and at least 13 others will have to reduce their global warming pollution by 30 percent between 2009 and 2016. And the Department of Transportation will require more efficient new cars to be on the road starting in 2010, and set a course for the average new car to achieve maximum feasible fuel efficiency by 2020.

Simply put, President Obama is not just stepping up to the threat of climate chaos. His call for a fleet of cleaner cars will help reduce our dangerous dependence on oil and push automakers to make the cars that the world wants and needs in the 21st century.

NRDC's climate attorneys were present at the White House this morning, and you can imagine their elation at this historic breakthrough. Thanks to your support, NRDC led the fight in 2002 for California's Clean Cars Law -- the very first law to cut global warming pollution from automobiles.

And when the Bush Administration and the automakers threw up roadblocks to that law, NRDC and our partners took the legal fight all the way to the Supreme Court -- and won. But the Bush EPA persisted in its unlawful obstructionism until the bitter end.

This morning, President Obama took America's foot off the brake and put cleaner cars into high gear. The automakers should be lining up to thank him. This is just the kind of turbo-charged policy they need to start producing cars that are better for the planet, better for consumers, and better for the economy.

What a difference a new President makes! But I also want to recognize your generous support and online activism that kept NRDC's clean car campaign in drive through eight tough years and countless courtrooms.

We were in the White House this morning representing you. And I truly believe this is just the beginning. If we seize this rare opportunity for environmental change, there's no telling what we can do in 2009. Congratulations!"

    Sincerely,

    Frances Beinecke
    President
    Natural Resources Defense Council

I wonder when they'll kick in the world wide carbon tax so we can all pay higher prices to eat and breathe. It will probably come just about the same time everyone is living off of welfare. Those pesky cows and pigs farting are ruining my morning jogs. I think they should make everyone attach a gas meter on their a$$.

I had a feeling you would start a thread like this.....

Obama can't be to smart if he believes in a scam like this. I just have to put up with it for two years and then hopefully the Republicans will regain control of Congress.

Many people have been hoodwinked into believing the farce known as Global Warming Every year more and more scientists are skeptical about whether global warming is the threat so many claim it is.

    I take it you're a believer?

I haven't done enough research to have a strong opinion about this issue ... I just think that, in general, the world's top scientists are less apt to be "hoodwinked" than many people claim.

Sad but true even in the face of irrefutable evidence we have a few who choose to ignore the danger to our planet, economy, and every living thing including our future generations simple because they are locked into an outdated mindset concerning the production of our energy. We're living in the 21st century.....why not get modern and admit there is a better way to produce and use clean green energy?

Clean green energy is possible and feasible and we must move toward it as rapidly as possible. The sooner the better. For those who stubbornly oppose this and allow themselves to be influenced and mislead by a handful who would sell their soul for a few dollars, I can only offer my condolences.

A new clean green economy is coming and you can either accept it or have it imposed upon you. You do yourself and others a large discredit by speaking out against it....I predict that some day soon the great majority of the people will publicly disapprove and criticize all unrealistic opposition on such an important issue.

Ok, so we've had a few Scam comments. Can anyone care to explain this scam?

All these smokestacks, vehicle emissions, aerosols, smog, etc… are just what, optical illusions? Are they actually helping the environment?

How can making a cleaner car be a bad thing?

Also, just to understand this…the global warming inside jobbers think the 9-11, JFK and chem trail inside jobbers are crazy right?

Sorry they lost my faith on global warming when they started talking about cows and pigs farting causing it. No one argues that we could have cleaner energy and more efficient cars it's when it's used to tax the very necessities in life when it's gone overboard and the consensious isn't even in. We're suppose to just take Al Gore's word fot it. We are already seeing a food shortage because of it via grain and now they want to attach it to pigs, cows and chickens to? My understanding is the ring that the farmers will have to put on the chickens is $25, the pigs $50 a pop, cows $150 a pop. It's all nonsense.

A note to the confused skeptics.....

Keep in mind our world is vast and complex. With so many people and different opinions its not unusual to have many rumors, stories, lies, facts and misconceptions from many places but whats important is the science of global warming and climate change. The science that has been checked, verified and rechecked proves to the satisfaction of over 90% of the worlds leading and most respected scientists that man-made GW is real and getting worse. Not only that but when we apply common sense its even easier to believe the truth of GW....when mankind keeps dumping his excessive co2 pollution into the atmosphere its bound to continue to keep building up and too much of even a good thing can and will be very harmful if allowed to continue.

Co2 is a good thing when it occurs naturally in measureable quantities as nature intended but its destructive when allowed to be produced in unnatural quantities as man kind is doing by burning fossil fuels for energy. The co2 locked in fossil fuels by nature is not intended to be released in such large quanity as it is when the fossil fuels are burned.....our natural planetary defenses just can't handle it so most goes to our atmosphere where it creates a blanket around our earth that causes GW.

BTW...the cow and pig farting is NOT how they expend so much GHGas....its mostly caused by their belching...I guess most of the skeptics didn't get past the farting far enough to learn about this part.

What the proponents seem to forget is that only the IPCC scientists have come to this conclusion. And considering the IPCC was setup by the United Nations who wants to be the world government body and dictate everyone's lives tosses out any sceptic's opinions. Even as far as firing any scientist who disagrees with their theory within the IPCC.

Farting Belching it's all the same, complete B.S.. We've had cows, pigs, chickens, bears, humans, the list can go on and on for thousands if not millions of years. What is a tax going to do besides DECREASE an already short food supply source and increase the cost of said food. Nothing, nad, zilch. It's nothing but a way to sell the world on another tax to fund another government body. That's it.

Think of it as the ICANN fee on a domain. It increases your cost of business for absolutely nothing.

    BINGO!

Keep in mind though, that most members on IPCC are not Scientists at all... The Scientists that do claim GloBULL Warming is real, are doing so to get more FUNDING and keep their programs alive... The Scientists disagree are usually the ones who have their funding slashed.

GloBULL Warming has and always been about one thing, MONEY!!! It's a money making machine operated by a single UNPROVEN theory.

When Scientist's operate solely on Government money, you'd be surprised by their conclusions.

    Here are some better ways;

Ways to stop producing carbon dioxide

Stop breathing- When you exhale you release carbon dioxide

Dont drive - We all know how bad driving is

Don't live in a house/apartment/condo or any building that uses gas or electricity - Homes produce 2-3 times as much carbon as cars.

Don't wear shoes or any sort of clothing produced in a factory. Grow a cotton field and make your own clothes by hand.

Quit school - Those school buildings produce more carbon in a year then you do in 20 years.

Eat meat raw - Whether you're using gas or electric both produce carbon dioxide.

Turn off this monitor and computer - You hypocrite.

Don't use toilets, urinate or poo in your back yard.- The water to your house is cleaned and sent to your house using pumps that use electricity.

Stop exercising - Increasing your heart rate increases the amount of oxygen you take in and turn into carbon dioxide.

Die - Dying younger means you will do all of the above less. Living one year less means you will save the earth 8.4 tons of carbon dioxide every year you're not here!

I simply don't have the time to do the research required to formulate an educated opinion on GW. I've seen all the popular movies, read the popular articles, but they don't even seem to scratch the surface. But either way, I do hope Obama can usher in stronger environmental protection policies. My home state of Oregon is being absolutely ravaged by loggers (more so now than ever), and for those of you who have been there, you know what an absolute tragedy that is. In fact I was just looking at the Oregon Coastal Mountain range with Google Maps Satellite, and I had no idea the extent of the destruction was so bad. You can take a look below:

    LINK

Judging by what commercial interests are allowed to do within our own states, you get the impression that the government isn't concerned in the slightest with GW. How one should interpret that, who knows.

These are my replies to Raider's rhetoric in blue

Here are some better ways; better?

Ways to stop producing carbon dioxide

Stop breathing- When you exhale you release carbon dioxide

and appx 98 to 99% of organic life absorbs the co2 and plants needs it for photosnythesis.

Dont drive - We all know how bad driving is

walk, ride a bike or perhaps run your diesel car on vegetable oil

Don't live in a house/apartment/condo or any building that uses gas or electricity - Homes produce 2-3 times as much carbon as cars.

Rather than depend on the grid get 4 solar generators and a solar panel roof to power your house. (no c02 either)

Don't wear shoes or any sort of clothing produced in a factory. Grow a cotton field and make your own clothes by hand.

Grow industrial hemp like we did before 1938 and during WW2. just like humanity was already doing before the hemp cordicator was invented Hemp is the strongest fiber on the planet and was used to produce 60% to 80% of all goods with fibers and celllulose pre 1938. In 1937, the cordicator was invented that greatly reduced the energy required to break down its fibers. Popular Mechanics named hemp the 'first billion dollar crop' noting its 5000 uses for its fiber and 25000 uses for its cellulose.

By utilizing what clearly is the most useful and strongest plant in the world (check out how useful Napoleon thought hemp was and the role of hemp in the war of 1812)

By forming an apportioned excise tax - the industrial cultivation of hemp can earn the nation half a trillion dollars annually.

Quit school - Those school buildings produce more carbon in a year then you do in 20 years.

    Or take classes online,

Or read a book, get private masters/tutors/classes, watch a documentary and teach yourself what you need to know and what you want to learn.

Eat meat raw - Whether you're using gas or electric both produce carbon dioxide.

Or use your solar generator to power your electric stove

Maybe grill your food outside over a fire?

Turn off this monitor and computer - You hypocrite.

Power your electronics through your wireless connection both powered by a solar power generator

Don't use toilets, urinate or poo in your back yard.- The water to your house is cleaned and sent to your house using pumps that use electricity.

    Have your own well.

Stop exercising - Increasing your heart rate increases the amount of oxygen you take in and turn into carbon dioxide.

Ok, stop giving myself oxygen? This sounds like the propaganda of a globalist who believes in a new world order.

Die - Dying younger means you will do all of the above less. Living one year less means you will save the earth 8.4 tons of carbon dioxide every year you're not here!

Wow that really does sound like the statement of a globalist.

That reminds me I need to forward globalwarminglie dot org to globalwarmingfraud.org
