I was referring to the speech he gave earlier just to get the crazies hyped up...
Eight years late but he wound down US involvement in an ill-advised colonial foray into Iraq, added troops in Afghanistan where our enemy had increasingly gained an upper hand (and from where they planned and launched their attacks on US cities), renounced the use of torture by the United States and it's adherence to the Geneva convention, appointed competent administrators (rather than political hacks) to key government posts such as FEMA (remember hurricane Katrina?), EPA, etc., replaced dogma with reasoned dialogue and respect for science, re-secured some respect for the US and cooperation from leaders and people world-wide, brought hope to the prospects for peace in the Middle East, and reeled the US economy back from the brink of near total collapse. And that's only seven months on the job...
Its amazing what some think as progress.LOL
Obama hasn't done any good for this country since he became president. He always talks a good game but when comes to actually doing something positive for this country he falls way short. What we have now is bigger government, less freedom and more debt..... Boy that's what I wanted.![]()
About as happy as you will be when you find out this was all a huge mistake.
um, you may want to check the dates of those bailouts, buyouts, and "loans".
And Health Care? He wants to take it over?
Answer the following questions:
Do you have health insurance?
Who pays for it?
Were you able to choose from a selection of coverages/plans?
What is your deductible?
If you lose your job, will you be able to get a new policy?
What happens to you when, in between jobs, something should happen to you or a family member covered?
Have you ever been denied coverage?
Have you ever been denied services?
Does you plan pay for "preventive" care? (annual physical, mammography, colonoscopy)
Do you have any pre-existing conditions should you change policies?
Do you have any children with birth defects?
Does your coverage pay for child birth?
Does your insurance have a "cap" for care?
Does your insurance permit you to chose your doctor, hospital, clinic?
Does your insurance require you to "stay in network"?
What are the caps for prescription medications out-of-pocket expenses?
Do you have to get "pre-approved" for emergency room or doctor visits?
Do you think that you and every other american should pay for health care for those that do not have health care?
Hawaii people are good people you just waite and see.![]()
First, you did not answer all the questions.
If you can not truthfully answer all the questions, without looking at the policy you have, then there are some huge gaps in your policy.
Doubtful you truly know what your policy covers and does not cover.
That is why there are many questions that need to be answered.
Secondly, if you think the government is not currently involved with healthcare, what do you call Medicare and Medicaid? Who do you think runs the VA healthcare system? Who do you think covers the active duty and reserve military? Who do you think runs Walter Reed? Who do you think covers the President, Members of Congress, staff, and family members?
The government has been a provider of healthcare for decades. Yes, DECADES.
Meanwhile, private health sector companies are rift with corruption, graft, fraud, kickbacks, and inflated prices.
Many of you need to understand something - Insurance companies do not make money by paying out claims. And when they do have to pay out claims, what happens? Yes, your rates go up. Just like my home owners went up because the insurance companies here had to pay out claims for beach front homeowners storm damage.
For those that have insurance, here is a test. Look at your policy. If the items not covered is longer than those that are covered, you have a bad policy. The best policies are the ones that only take a paragraph or so to tell you what is not covered.
And many of you more than likely have personal stories of being denied coverage by your private insurance provider.

The National Health Service (NHS) in Britain is a life saver, my friends dad had treatment that cost tens of thousands to extend his life by a few months, I don't know where this magical death figure is coming from.
The only problem we have is the abuse by non UK citizens, health tourists who come to the UK with the sole intention of using the NHS.
I would hate to have the US system in the UK, I think of the JohnQ film with Denzel Washington in, had it been the UK then the child would have got the treatment straightaway.
Obama has to spend time cleaning up after the utter disaster that was handed to him by Bush.
There has been a big change for us Americans.
1) We no longer have to be embarrased by the bad English and offensive remarks every time our president speaks.
2) Obama has a positive message, and inspires hope, and THAT goes a long way. We're all sick of the Bush "terror alerts" and scare tactics, after Bush himself ignored warnings titled "Bin Laden to attack America with airplanes" and allowed 9/11 to happen.
3) Obama has not forced us to pointlessly attack any country since he has been in office.
I am, however, dissapointed that he has continued with much of Bush's "bailout the big companies" mentality.
