Reread what I said and it will make itself clear. Then you have to be open to seeing another pov. Are you about this subject? Not from the posts I've seen you make on the topic. Again .. no offense.
Again, voting takes a lot of introspecting.
Sure it does. Sadly there are many people who "introspect" was skewed in this election. The screwed up economy skewed everyones vision ... and yes Bush and friends had a hand in it ... so did the democrats and it rook decades to get where it is today.
But Obama and crew pounded it into people, people that aren't likely to look elsewhere to confirm info that it was all Bush and the republicans fault. If the economy wasn't in the place it is Obama wouldn't have taken this race. So they did the smart thing ... made it all about the economy and what the "republicans" did to it. Introspect ... cool word.
I've been voting since I was 18.
Good for you ... as have I.
It takes a lot of thinking to decide for one candidate or another, especially having to put aside interests one might have in order to cast a vote that's better for the future of a country.
We agree on this.
I would be willing to bet you that a majority that voted Obama do the "thinking" you and others did. What they heard was "republicans bad, Democrats good ... we will fix what the "republicans broke". It's pretty easy to gain the support of people who lost major parts of their retirement money .. they really don't care why its gone they just want it back and are desparate enough to believe whatever some snake oil salesmen tells them.
So, to talk down on the majority is typical of someone who voted against it.
It all depends on how you want to take it. Most of the time its lazy speech where its easier to say they or them ect that break it down to groups. We should take the time to be more precise so as we can avoid being lectured by semantics professors and mind readers. Add to that ... yup, it is typical for those who don't like or oppse something to speak poorly of something ... and you are as guilty of it as the rest of us
Now, if you voted Libertarian good for you. In the US election system, a 3rd party is a virtual no-go.
Unfortunately, 3rd parties and those politicians who have truly good.selfless intent rarely get elected ... not good for big biz or big gov. There were some other interesting choices among the range of parties but again. Its pointless to waste time talking about it as things are set in stone.
The bottomline is ... Obama is now going to have to get in gear double speed and start showing movement on his promises. The whole world is watching him and waiting on him. Yes I know change doesn't happen overnite ... but sadly that is what he sold the people and they are expecting it ... along with their "mortgages and electric bills" being paid for them.
I hope obama succeeds and it leads to a better America. He won the seat ... I just expect him to do as he said he would. No more No less.

Obama can go ahead and beat Mich Jagger in a coke snort-off event, but I don't really care. It doesn't really matter what his bad habits are; all that matters is how he performs in the office.
And guys, please, didn't pretty much every president before the 1960s smoke? Do you remember a time when cocaine was an active ingredient in coca-cola? Does that make you feel like a weak addict now, knowing that your great grandfather voluntarily ingested huge amounts of cocaine in coca-cola form?
seriously guys, it has to be bigger than what a man's personal habits are.
