An incorruptible statesman, are you serious? The man launched his presidential campaign as an anti-lobbyist anti-war candidate. Three months later he stood before AIPAC and militarily threatened Iran. Now as president he has sent more troops into Afghanistan, and now it looks like we might even get drawn into either a full blown war with Iran or Pakistan.

I wish I could comfortably sit back in Ireland and give praises to a guy that bailed out Goldman Sachs with tax payer dollars, or is sending my countrymen to die for nothing (4 of which died today). If you hold such little regard for Ireland, then please take him off our hands.

Once the voting is over, the new President of your country belongs to you all, whether your inclination be Republican or Democrat. Obama is thus not just a Democrat now, but President of the United States, and so of those who voted for his opponent as much as of those who voted for him. In the same way, if you criticise him it should be as a citizen rather than just a Republican.

Maybe he needs to be hated abroad before some of you will pull together behind him. I guess that's just the way human nature works.

I actually think it's telling that you all see him as someone with those big ears, because it's clear that he's doing an excellent job of listening to everyone, not just in the States but in the wider world, which is why he has been given the Nobel Peace Prize.
