They'll be slaughtering sheep in Galilee this week to honor a man that local Bedouins now claim is their cousin: American President-elect Barack Obama. The sheikh in a tiny village not far from the Israeli city of Nazareth says his mother remembers an African man who married into the clan some 80 years ago. The evidence of kinship is, to say the least, thinly substantiated. Abdul Rahman Sheikh Abdullah, 53, tells NEWSWEEK that his late cousins carried themselves like Obama, gestured like Obama, grinned like Obama. "His smile is typical of our tribe," says the sheikh. "It shows gentleness and kindness but also firmness." But the sheikh says he really doesn't want much from the new president: a little recognition, an invitation to the White House and, oh yes, for Obama to defend the rights of Bedouins in Israel and around the world. "Obama will not desert his family," the sheikh says confidently.

Although few others go so far as to claim blood ties to Obama based on his smile, the last few weeks have seen a vast range of people, some oppressed, some powerful, some just opportunistic, who have embraced the Obama mystique as they imagine it. In the process, they are revealing a great deal more about their own societies, their frustrations, and especially their problems with racism and ethnic tensions, than they are about the president-elect of the United States.

The people who voted for Obama will understand soon enough that he's not the savior they all thought he was. He already wants to spend more billions on bailouts for the car companies. This is payback for union support......and look who he's been appointing to his cabinet, well known Clinton advisers. He might even put Hilary Clinton in his administration. So much for "hope and change". GOD HELP US ALL!!!

Nothing wrong with stories like this being reported. How Obama affects, influences others should be shared ..... positive or negative. But you will find that Obama has been one of the most if not the most "sheltered" politician by the media to date and it will continue. Sure anything that is a positive or can be spun as one will be all over ... but anything that can be taken as negative or :::shutter::: is negative will be squashed as much as they can do it. The question is ... will this really be to his benefit or will it end up biting him in the asz later?

They played rev wright over and over and over again, and many other things as well. He was not sheltered at all, he has been called a terrorist, the big M word and else thing else the far right could think of.

The far right still don't get it at all, all the attacks coming from the far right will not work. The people know better so they need to truth, not lieing attacks or it will not ever work again. But ha this is a good thing, the far right can keep doing their lieing attacks and keep right on losing.

It's very clear they need to bring more groups, into their ranks and you do that by sticking up for them groups. And really doing some thing for the people, instead of pushing fear and spending and more oil drilling, and all the other dumb stuff they been pushing the last 8 years.
