It just proves that there are fanatics in most religions.
The church has apparently lost over half of their congregation over this issue, too.

Why has the mainstream media decided to make this Quran burning issue a global story, and why now? Why is an extremely controversial Islamic cultural center suddenly being built near ground zero, why now? Is someone or some group looking for an excuse to do something sinister, start a war perhaps? Or maybe I'm reading into it all too deeply, and the world is actually held hostage by complete retards... probably both.

I informed a person I know who is a Muslim and told him what he thought about the Quran burning and he was shocked and had no clue that was going to happen, his instant reaction was that it will cause WAR.
Because they're planning the burn on Sept 11, 2010 (9 year anniversaty of the Sept 11th attacks). It's been in the news here for several days now.
They had the church leader on the radio the other day - they're all also going to pack heat incase "anything happens". Really? If it's an alleged "peaceful protest" then why the guns??

People have been burning copies of the Quran on YouTube for years, including on the anniversary of 9/11. Now suddenly some obscure church decides to do it, and it goes global? It sparks protests in Afghanistan?

I don't get why all Muslims have to suffer because of the 1% that are nut jobs. Sometimes the Christians make me ashamed of how narrow minded they are. It is exactly this type of response towards Muslims that triggers the extremists to recruit idle minds.
The sad thing is that there are things in the Quran that people should be concerned over(I'm sure there are some in the Christian bible and Torah, too) but people like this haven't even picked up the Quran and read it to see them (maybe they think it is contageous - like they think homosexuality is - they read the book and offend their "god"?).
Maybe if they actually did some research and expressed some INTELLIGENT concerns wihout the knee-jerk reaction that they have been they'd be taken more seriously.
Yet we don't see the intelligent people expressing these concerns on the news because it's considered boring and not newsworthy.

This pastor has a grand total of 30 members in his church.
Yet, he is getting this much press???
Welcome to the real world where controversy sells and controversy is free.
There is not a human alive that could afford to pay out cash to have as much press coverage that it has garnered worldwide. And yet this bozo is not paying a cent to have all of this press coverage.
I think I'll burn a bible.
The intelligent people are yelled at or interrupted when they try to express themselves. At the end of the day they don't even bother.
Doc you are one funny fellow![]()
What he's doing is disrespectful, and he should expect to be treated the same way in return by society, as well as the victims of his actions.
He's looking for a problem... and by going through with this, he'll sure have himself one.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39074573...use/?GT1=43001The pastor planning to burn Qurans on the Sept. 11 anniversary said Thursday that he had called off the event after being given assurances that the Muslim group seeking to build an Islamic center near the World Trade Center site would move the project.
Wow, talk about one heck of a publicity stunt.
As aggressive as he was acting, I wonder if this was the plan all along?

Meanwhile, two websites associated with Jones and his church were down Thursday.
Rackspace Hosting took down the two sites because the church "violated the hate speech provision of our acceptable use policy," said spokesman Dan Goodgame.
The company investigated a complaint in the past couple days and made the determination after reviewing both sites, said Goodgame, adding that Rackspace was under no pressure to act.
"This is not a constitutional issue. This is a contract issue," he said.
Rackspace gave Jones until midnight Wednesday to migrate content and find another host. Goodgame said he did not know how long Rackspace had hosted the websites, but he said it did not handle design or content.
"We have about 100,000 customers," Goodgame said. "We don't even know what all the sites are."
Jones and Dove World had agreed to terms on the Rackspace Cloud service, Goodgame said. The policy dictates the suspension or termination of service for offensive content, including material that is "excessively violent, incites violence, threatens violence or contains harassing content or hate speech."
"We would have taken the same position if it was hate speech against Christians or other groups," he added.

it is merely a phenomenon of fighting intolerance with intolerance, and fighting fire with fire. Try walking around in Saudi Arabia with a Bible in your hand, they will cut off your ***** and set it on fire. The pastor is no doubt insane, but he does have a role to play in balancing nature, just like volcanoes which are destructive, do have a creative and balancing role. Tolerance and respect for other religions cannot be a one way street. After the burning ceremony, maybe the good pastor will consider going on some prozac or viagra or something depending on what all he is lacking in life..![]()
There is quite a bit of controversy surrounding those comments.
NBC is reporting no one, including the Imam involved in the NYC mosque, has been involved with or talked to about the moving of the mosque.
I can not believe this idiot is getting as much press as he has gotten.
The question is, who attacked the towers?![]()
Being in a state of war will increase risk of terror attacks!
Duh!
