to me, those type of "introductions" into what was starting out to be a decent thread, turn the thread into comedy
takes away from the serious concern or intent of the thread
when members start using bold face fonts and super sized letters to draw attention, it only serves as a distraction....while drawing attetion to one's inability to engage in conversation at the same level/tone as the others.
it's why many times you can't have a flow-thru thread that stays on topic with meaninful contributions from all who participate.
some need to grow-up, not just in age but in maturity

I know how you feel, Don. The trouble is, when there's a vacuum in a discussion it's natural for such posts to appear. They wouldn't be able to if there were a strong debate going on. You have made the effort to contribute but, considering the membership of the forum, not too many others were interested enough to. At least those who introduced the more comic elements were trying, don't you think?
