Release the pics of a justice done to Usama

Just give the closure Osama.. Most Americans have lived through this and need the closure. This is ridiculous... we saw our own people falling 100 stories to their doom. Let us see and really feel what justice is "supposedly" done.
I'd rather see the pic with the tomahawk in his rear on the carrier though.
And I want proof that the DNA was a match to GW Bush.

The WH and security realise that servicemens lives are at stake and they will not give any ammunition to the inflate anti-American feeling that would increase one iota the dangers to the servicemen in the field or indeed American citizens anywhere. If you accept bin Laden is dead then fine, if not go join Trumpites and the Tea Party.

inernester, you are not the only one who has lost friends, and I can assure you that I feel exactly the same way about any terr. The fact is that we are dealing with trying to defeat these terrs, and that means not giving them the ability to rabble rouse support by inflaming feelings of possible supporters, we are trying to take the oxygen they need to exist and isolate them. Every action that is carried out should be examined as to consequences.

Osama is dead, if not then let them (the terrs) prove otherwise, which of course they now cannot. Undoubtedly there will always be a small percentage who think tooth fairies are real amoung the supporters, these people even a video would not prove the death of Osama to. But let us not give the terrs any more grounds for support than we need to, otherwise more people will feel the pain of losing loved ones and friends and all because of our selfish wishes (and I do mean 'our' here). Some politicians will call for the release of the pictures, but they are not worth listening to because they are willing to put peoples lives at risk for their own political rabble rousing gain.

Whether the President at this time be Obama or had McCain been elected I would have said the same, unfortunately I think Bush would have just published them and to hell with the consequences. I understand that senior members of both sides of the house have now seen the evidence and are convinced that Osama is now dead from the assault this week, surely that is proof enough?

It's funny.. In America there is supposed to be accountability by the government. This was the most atrocious crime on our country and not only am I asking for the evidence (the proof of accountability).
And besides, who wants the radical jihadists to think Usama left the world in peace? I want them besides us to see that justice is done and will be swifter.

Obama and the WH and security services have obviously decided that the 'costs' of publishing any photo would be to high in the extra risk resulting to US and allied forces, that the risk of any photo would be utilized by the terrs to recruit and garner support from those that otherwise would not support them, and therefore will not at this time publish any photo. Surely this is the right thing to do, to weigh up the consequences and make informed and reasoned decisions.

I agree totally this is nothing to do with overall partisan lines, I tried expressing this by stating that I would have said the same if McCain was president right now, I then differentiated him from Bush by expressing the fact that I think Bush would have just published the photo/s. To publish would be irresponsible at this time of that there can surely be little doubt.

So you'd risk global revenge attacks by bin Laden's supporters - causing damage, chaos and mass loss of life - just to see a picture of Osama dead? I feel sorry for your loss, but seeing that picture won't bring them back. It'll just cause revenge attacks - ruining countless lives.

A bipartisan committee, intelligence officials, and other world leaders should be granted access for confirmation.

No cameras, no phones, no press, no images made public.

I would have thought that the senators being interviewed one-by-one as they left a briefing by Leon Penetta would have sufficed. Each Senator expressed their satisfaction in proof of the mission as they departed the meeting.

But, lets face it...no matter what proof will be offered will not be proof enough for a large portion of the population. So the call for proof is a mute point and one that will not satisfy a great deal of people.

We have the Birthers, then the Graders, now the Ladeners.

CNN was showing the front pages of numerous Arabic newspapers, all showing a grim picture supposed to be Osama. This is the same picture that had been floating around for a couple of years now already proven to be false (photo-shopped layering of gruesome face on Osama's image).

So screw it. There are fakes, there will be fakes, and even the real images will be called fake.

As you say, as long as they are guaranteed 40 virgins for martydom, they don't need no stinkin' pictures, man.

I feel too the real ones will show up .. and I do believe the government will aid and abet but deny. The closure Americans feel has to be there. Also, The solid feeling "do not tread on me" You cannot claim you will not allow terrorism to rule and then bow down to it. That is what suppressing the pics is. Usama wins.. he controls the US in the pics.. give me a break. Release the pics.

inernetster I think the World in general thinks once again that America is not to be mucked around with, and this is the first time in many many years that is generally the feeling. Idiotic zealous youngsters and others may call for the overthrow of the USA but in one fell swoop this weekend your President in just over 9 minutes told the World 'America is back, America will fight, and America will WIN!' Now it may take some time for Americans to feel that message, but it is a general feeling amoungst all the non-partisan press around the world (and I do not include the BBC in them by the way - my apologies for that).

Inernetster your anger and frustration are both real and totally understandable, but our freedoms and the freedoms of friends, our own respective countrymen and women, and others, means that sometimes we cannot have what we would like, this is a truism of life. I liked Obama overall( he talked intelligently).
But, as far as having a rhyme or reason and drive for the big pictures we need he blew his biggest and easiest choice today(make a real decision).
If he believes Usama rules things still by not being able to release his picture.. he is lame duck.

The release of the pictures has little to do with providing proof, most Americans except that Bin Laden DEAD, at the least the logical thinking ones.

The Majority of Americans WANT to see the pictures, and they have good reason, they want to see the photos of the guy who inconvenienced their lives, the guy who subjected us to long lines and 3 hour waits at the airports, had our luggage turned upside down, Forced us to remove our shoes and walk through body scanners that emit radiation, Being groped and fondled by perverted TSA agents and having to be body scanned whenever we walk into a Government building, all because of one Muslim DOUCHE BAG, and the President is telling Americans who had to endure all this that WE CANT see the pictures of Usama with a bullet hole in his head?.

That's messed up, the personal sacrifice we endured because of this DOUCHE BAG is reason enough to disclose them.

The President really has no right to deny us this, and the bullsh*t excuses he's using are as empty as he is, They have little merit, you would think the Muslim world would be happy Bin Laden is dead, they've been denouncing him and separating themselves from him for over 10 years now, the only people who should be pissed at these pictures is the terrorists themselves, but their always going to be a threat, so what does it matter?.

Bin "DOUCHE BAG" Laden did a lot of damage, not just on US soil but abroad, The USS Cole, The Kobalt Towers, the Embassy bombings in Africa, The Madrid bombings, Occupation in Somalia and the Philippines, Kidnappings, the list goes on and on.

And that Turd we call our President want's to deny Americans the right to see the photos? Could it be that he's saving them for a rainy day? Like releasing them 1 week before election day 2012?

He'll need all the help he can get.
