The nude pictures of Palin on the internet are photo shopped Focus, In other words; what your whacking to is not really real... I hope this doesn't spoil it for you.

You're judging her on one interview??? Come on now she didn't get where she is today without some smarts.

    1. That interview is the first thing that comes to mind, but certainly not the only time I've seen her in over her head while making public comments.

    2. I never said she didn't have "some smarts," and I'll grant you that it takes some savvy to become a governor. However, Raider claimed that Palin's IQ was "far higher" than Obama's, and that is clearly absurd in light of his achievements and the surpassingly articulate manner in which he usually answers questions and expresses ideas. (The only possible way to support a claim like that is to say "She's smarter because her policy ideas are better than his," which is a circular line of reasoning; that just means each side thinks all of their officeholders/candidates/members are smarter than all the ones on the other side. Not a helpful argument.)

I saw more stammering and bumbling when Obama was interviewed with Pastor Rick Warren than Palin was with Couric, Should I assume that he's stupid too? I don't .... Not knowing the answer to a question or not giving the appropriate response every single time does not make a person dumb, and this is exactly what many here are trying to do...

You don't go from a nobody to Governor of a State for being stupid, unless of course your a celebrity or well known like Jesse Ventura or Al Franken.

What's really important today is the economy, Palin is clearly more fiscally responsible than Obama is, his irresponsible spending for the last 6 months prove it... Care to debate that? I doubt it.

and yet this thread is getting more attention than the ones that DO impact our lives and the future of our children
Raider, I'll type this slowly, so you can understand it.

I don't read or post to the Gold Cafe of DNForum to "impact our lives and the future of our children".

If you think that the political funhouse at DNForum matters - to anything - then it's a sad reflection on what you think is important.

Absolutely, my wife and I donated a lot of money to the Obama campaign. You donated nothing to anyone, apparently because you were doing the "important work" of posting stuff on an internet forum about domain names which provided this area as a safety valve for people who can't help but post irrelevant stuff in the main forum. Either that or you spend so much time going on about how high income earners like myself pay too much in taxes, you forgot to earn income. I don't know.

Now... again with feeling... I post here for my personal entertainment. I find the subject of Palin intensely entertaining. I also find Bugs Bunny cartoons to be entertaining. I'm not looking for Palin or Bugs Bunny to impact the lives of my children - all of which are going quite well, thank you.

If it bothers you so much, don't read the thread.

But - again with the teleprompter stuff... Go back and look at the pictures of your heroine reading from a teleprompter. The only time she could pronounce the word "nuclear" was when they spelled it out as "new-clear".

True, and it's a shame some people think that way. In the case of Palin vs. Obama, I'm talking more of an overall trend, but it's not something that can be numerically quantified. I'll stick with my view that it's absurd to say Palin's IQ is "far higher" than Obama's. Agreed?

Since nearly all economists seem to agree that a huge recession must be met by a huge stimulus package, do you want to specify which precise parts of the spending you think a McCain administration would not have made?

I fear, though, that this will turn into a pre-scripted discussion:
*Clinton ran surpluses, Bush turned them into deficits!
*But Bush had to spend a lot on security because of 9/11!
*But Obama also has to fund ongoing wars that stem from the Bush administration, plus deal with the global recession that is slamming governments everywhere!
*But he shouldn't have included X or Z in his spending package!
*But then that industry would have collapsed and unemployment would be putting an even larger load on the economy!

    Etc., etc., etc.

Nice spin, but that's not what I meant and you know it..

After seeing what Obama has done these last 6 months and giving him $5000 to boot, must make you feel like a complete fool.

The reason the GOP did not let her do interviews was not because of her IQ.

It doesn't matter, but obviously you thought it mattered BEFORE election day, when you participated quite heavily in the political funhouse... Nowadays the only time we see you is when a Palin or Bush bashing thread pops up.

The point I made earlier was, For someone who donated 5K to his candidate, one would think you'd be showing a lot more interest... But I can surely understand why you don't, Defending Obama would be a losing cause.

Yes, Raider, there was an election going on, with all the usual sorts of entertainment an election provides.

The election is over. I'm sure you heard about it. It was in all the papers.

Palin retains entertainment value to me, because she really strikes my funny bone.

In general, I'm pleased as punch with the current president, and happy I donated.

But, again, this thread is about Sarah Palin - The Quittah From Wasilla. As much as I appreciate your concern about my attention to things to which I donate, I'll be quite frank with you - I really don't know what the Salvation Army has been up to with my money either. I gave them quite a bit more than I did to any politician. I guess I'm just too trusting.

I will say that the notion I need to "defend" anyone to an anonymous nobody on an internet forum is amusing.

The discussion goes on, now however interlaced with posts from Focus while he's taking a giant dump in real time...

Oh, the guilt I walk away with after reading these threads.

Ummm... the morning after the New Hampshire primary?

But I think you need to compare some figures here:

    http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/su...&cid=N00009638

    http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/su...&cid=N00006424

    The McCain campaign ended with:

    Cash on Hand: $1,834,695
    Debts: $1,537,367

and that includes, of all funding sources:

    Federal Funds $84,103,800 23%

As you know, the Obama campaign opted out of the government handout taken by McCain.

But, no, neither candidate can convert campaign funds to personal funds. This doesn't work like politics in the Philippines.

In the case of Haliibuton, the diversion/conversion works by way of DC to Texas to Dubai.

So if anyone wants to know where their money went (and where it is staying)...
