I'm starting my own search engine. This article makes me think twice about using google... For anything.
The concept is not that farfetched.
Applying for a job or credit or anything, you are hiding nothing.
All those photos published on Facebook, drunk parties, bragging about stealing something...if you post it, it is archived, cached, and on the web forever. By filling out an application for anything, you are giving that person or entity permission to check your background. Anything and everything ever published - your party shots, your photos, your bragging about something or bouts of depression, hacking into your schools computer, sending nude pics - anything and everything is subject to scrutiny and can be used against you.
Young people have no idea what they are doing to their futures by doing what they do now on the internet. All those little innocent pranks can have consequences way beyond anyone's age. Just look at the headlines on kids snapping pics of naked girls or upskirt and sending them to their buds - they are being charged with real life crimes of Child Pornography and are registered as Sex Offenders even as a teenager. The damage may be irrepairable. For some, they may not have any choice but to legally change their name to avoid being connected to their (now) pages on facebook, myspace, and all the other crap.
If you had done nothing wrong then there's no need to change your name. It's as simple as that.
IMO -- a person's name means something.
It does, when you change your name, you give-up much.

its easy for you to say, kids have access to iphones, facebook from age 6! Bad parenting results in bad behavior from the kids, and not to mention kids make mistakes. Now the system was archives their mistakes. Kids don't know from right and wrong until they hit a point in life that they grow up and some don't. Unfortunately this will result in life's being ruined and most likely lead to suicide as well.
