I had a whole bunch of scrap metal I took to the scrap joint about a week or so ago and it didn't dawn on me that the prices went waaaaay down Now I know! Yes, even the copper.

I have cancell some of the expensive features with my mobile operator today, changed the plan with my cable provider, cancelled the house cleaning service and bought a vac for my wife on garage sale, reduced the heat and down and excercise more to warm up!

Go on the offensive - go looking at new cars, new houses, jewellery....fill your mind with all the things you want to get, and tell yourself that they are going to be more affordable than they have been for years. Tell yourself you can get these things - don't worry about how you're going to pay for them - just concentrate on getting the feeling of already owning them.

Tell yourself that this credit crunch is not only not going to affect you adversely, but it's going to be great for you! That once snotty dealer at the Mercedes garage will soon be crawling over broken glass to get your business....that plasma you couldn't afford 6 months ago is now half price....

Worrying about your finances, or anyone elses for that matter, will surely bring a downturn - conversely, thinking about getting more money - not 'how' to get it, but 'having' it, will increase your chances of making the money you want. You've got to have positive thoughts about money if you want to get it.

Being defensive is no way to win - at the very best you might come out with a draw; no better off than you are now. When you play to win, there's a good chance you will, and maybe the worst case scenario will be you get that draw.

This is not to say ignore any money issues you may currently have, but deal with them in a positive way.

"Prepare for the worst - work for the best" - my elder brother used to tell me this, and it's a solid piece of advice.
