That's what the magnetic strip is for! They can spot them anywhere on earth thanks to their satellites which can read the fine print in a contract better than you can without your reading glasses.
But yet it takes days, weeks, months and sometimes never to find people who are stranded in a Life/Death situation.. People who have credit cards and a drivers license on them....

Where do you come up with this stuff Harvey?, Comic Spy books?

If you don't do anything wrong, what do have to worry about? My life is an open book, mistakes, flaws, whatever are real and life is real, what's to hide from anyone? The CIA would be bored following my life. I like facebook, do you really think the CIA needs facebook to find out about your life? LOL

No need to spy on people anymore as they willingly expose their life on the open, wild Internet

    Interesting Video,

Think facebook is scary? ( I don't personally ) BUT I just read this book:

It was an interesting read ;-)

    The Book Blurb:

A captivating look at how a global math elite is predicting and altering our behavior -- at work, at the mall, and in bed

Every day we produce loads of data about ourselves simply by living in the modern world: we click web pages, flip channels, drive through automatic toll booths, shop with credit cards, and make cell phone calls. Now, in one of the greatest undertakings of the twenty-first century, a savvy group of mathematicians and computer scientists is beginning to sift through this data to dissect us and map out our next steps. Their goal? To manipulate our behavior -- what we buy, how we vote -- without our even realizing it.

From the sheer stupidity of what I wrote, I was thinking most people would realise it was sarcasm.

The magnetic strip on a card cannot be traced. The magnetic force is virtually undetectable without direct contact.
A phone cannot be traced if it's off, as it simply stops sending signal, so there is nothing to triangulate.
A GPS receiver cannot be traced as it sends out nothing.

The government is unlikely to be tracking everyone in any particularly effective way.
I always find it amazing that everyone *****es and moans about how they can't get the most simplistic things right in healthcare or education, yet somehow they're competent enough to generate massive conspiracies against the populations they work for and actually run those organisations efficiently.
Even if you and every other citizen were being tracked and monitored at all times, the massive amount of data would take hours to process, just to find someone in the database. Ever loaded a spreadsheet with more than 10,000 entries and then hit search? Now imagine that to dozens of orders of magnitude more complex. Even with top tier networked, cloud driven, multi-cored computing, it's still going to take a hell of a time to retrieve a result from project Echelon.

When you consider all the outrageous comments that get posted on this forum, nothing surprises me anymore.

I know, I know... I was trying to highlight just that.

Wait! We're agreeing on something!!! Can you please check the thermometer for me? It's feeling a tad chilly in my particular spot of hell.
