Funny how "PC" caters to some, shuns others, and completely ignores many.
We celebrate the Yule yet you don't hear anyone promoting that holiday nor the winter solstice.
I want my holiday back! Why did everyone have to move theirs to then and drown out the Yule?
Actually, he's not.
Jesus was born in April and in the very early days of Christianity to keep their faith "hidden" they moved it closer to the Yule (traditionally celebrated on the Winter solstice - and a few days longer depending on how long the log would burn).
(Or they moved it to coincide with the Roman New Year or roughly 9 months after the Annunciation of Mary).
The first Christmas (on record) wasn't until the 11th century. No one knows the actual day he was born since the calendar has changed a lot (even the "years") since he was born.
Today's "Christmas season" is nothing more than a commercial push for sales (starting on Black Friday) and to promote giving objects and items to friends and family. Today, to most it is a commercial holiday as opposed to a religious holiday.
