The statistics for the PreDeployment suicides matches the number of Post Deployment suicides.

An american solder killed 5 of his commrades in Iraq. He was a white boy.

An american soldier threw a grenade into a tent killing two fellow officers. That was done by a black guy.

A navy sailor killed several dozen when he blew up a ammo room. He was a white gay fellow.

All of this nonsense has got to stop. Another reason not to send more troops to Afghanistan and time to bring troops

home - THERE IS NOT enough troops in the world to rotate through these theaters of war. That is why many are on their 2nd, 3rd,

My #14 post refers to the stress that is placed on troops at all levels.

There IS NOT enough troops in the world to PROPERLY rotate and rest between deployments. THE NUMBERS DO NOT ADD UP, even by General Casey's estimates. That is why deployments that used to be 12 months are now extended to 15 months. But, we've gone all over this before yet you do not want to comprehend it, do you?

Fact, the largest fragging episode took place on a US destroyer out at sea during peace time. He was white gay kid that got upset with the harassing and being turned down by a shipmate that he had a relationship with. Forty Seven crewmembers were killed in what had been termed and attributed to a deliberate explosion from a suicidal homosexual.

Have you noticed that the media has been careful in saying that this is the worst disaster of its kind on US soil?

You're belittling the point. The single fact that he was Muslim doesn't make it in any way connected to religion. Some other speculation is, like statements he apparently made before the shooting, and other religious background material.

On the other hand he was apparently belittled for his culture and/or religion as well.

The unfortunate reality is that their is friction amongst the religions.

On the other hand I wouldn't jump to clear cut conclusions, but the issue should definitely be investigated.

I am belittling the belief or idea that because this guy was a Muslim is the reason he acted in this manner, or that there were no other factors in this, or that this would never be done by a good ol' Christian... Then again, veteran Christians only bombed Oklahoma and assassinated a president in so far as I know. But hey, there's probably more where that came from that just didn't make international news.
I am belittling the instant and juvenile resort to bigotry and what is tantamount to racism that so many people on here are so quick to jump to.

Fact of that matter is that this guy was known to federal authorities before his conversion. He was known afterwards as well. And yet he was still allowed in, still allowed to gain rank, and still no one in various federal investigative authorities actually contacted the correct personnel within the US Armed Services and actually relayed this information or sought to get this guy some help.
Fact of the matter is that the effects of war and torn loyalties on soldiers are pretty well understood by psychiatric professionals.

What happened here has nothing to do with this guys race or religion, and everything to do with just the sheer arrogance that various people, both here on the forum and in the intelligence community, seem to tacitly display at every opportunity.
