A New Jersey actor who also played Santa Claus at children's birthday parties and fairs is scheduled to be sentenced in federal court in Newark today for traveling to Thailand to have sex with young boys and videotaping at least one assault that was later circulated on the internet.

Wayne Nelson Corliss confessed to his crimes last year, saying he was invited to Thailand by another pedophile he met in 2000 through an internet chat room called "Boy Love and Chat?" He said the other man told him he could have sex with a boy for $200 the first time and $20 thereafter

I am literally heart broken over this.

Two people have been charged in her disappearance, one of them her mother, Antoinette Davis, 25. Police charged Davis with human trafficking and felony child abuse, saying Shaniya was offered for prostitution. A first court appearance for Davis was scheduled Monday afternoon, and police said she did not yet have an attorney.

Authorities also charged Mario Andrette McNeill, 29, with kidnapping after they said surveillance footage from a Sanford hotel showed him carrying Shaniya there. Authorities said McNeill admitted taking the girl, though his attorney said he will plead not guilty.

This has been know and going on for decades. While Thai officials claim they are actively pursuing the culprits, this is so wide spread and out of control even for them to attempt to curtail.

No, but people are certainly getting more hyperbolic about it.
Actually, in so far as local statistics go, if anything, it's quieting down... you just hear about it more thanks to media witch hunts.

Child molestation was a lot more prevalent in the 60s and 70s than it is today, thanks to love cults.
Never mind about 100 years ago when having sex with girls as young as 13 was actually fairly common, so long as they weren't aristocrats.
Hell, some of the themes are pretty common in some of the post Renaissance artistic movements. Most of that art was on a commissioned basis.
