I wonder if all the Obamaniacs will still have the stars in their eyes and drool on their faces when they are repaying all the spending and watching the economy imploding due to this "stimulus" bill. Obama broke one of his biggest campaign promises here .. to let the people see what is going on .. complete transparency. The politicians forced to sign this bill didn't even have a chance to read it ... they would have had to been able to read 2.5 pages a minute to finish it before the deadline ... The US got flim flammed by obama and crew. I really was looking foward to saying "I told you so" but this is coming at too high a price for us all.

Keep in mind that governments in the first world, of EVERY political stripe are pissing money away in a spend fest, and hoping that some part or other of these insanely large packages actually helps rejuvenate the economy. Even the Brits are just "throwing money at it".

So if eberyone else is doing it does that justify it. If the Republicans were still in power the Democrats would still be criticising them. That's the responsibility of opposition parties in democracies.

I simply find it amazingly brilliant of some of these threads pointing out policy or executive acts of Obama.

In all of three weeks, he has had to do this and do that and yada, yada, yada.

Would anyone care to guess why he has to do something, anything, and why?

Of course, if McCain had been elected - all the ills and sorrows of this nation would already be fixed and we would not be having this discussion because Bush would have cleaned everything up before departing.

You'll pay the same tax as before. The more you earn, the more tax you pay. Personally I'm happy to do that, if i'm paying a lot of tax, i'm doing well. Happy to have a home, happy to be paying the bills, and hey, you never know some people are less well off. You're never gonna get rid of the spongers but that's life. I would say your average sponger has done less harm to this world than the cheney's and the bushes of this world by a country mile, so focus your mind on that.

At $2.00 per share, that was a hell of a deal.

We, as taxpayers, we not offered a chance at this.

Since when does the fed, behind close doors, broker a deal over a failing business?

Amazing, on a Thursday the CEO was telling the press and stockholders that Lehman was in great shape to weather the storm and had a $15 billion cushion, on Friday he was meeting with the fed, and Saturday a deal was done.

Take over businesses?

Hey, I would love an office in some high rise in the city getting paid $ millions for sitting on my ass, polishing my name plaque, and gold leaf lettering on my door.

Question; how far do we go and how much money do we release before the government says that's enough.
