Country: | Are you upset about the takeover itself or because a foreign company took it over?

Country: | Seriously, Budweiser was a private company. Of course they're going to sell out in the interest of shareholders. That's what private companies do.
It's not like it was a State owned beer company...
You think you have it bad? The Australian government took the national phone system, and floated it on the stock market, effectively selling it straight back to the people who's taxes paid for it in the first place.
What's more frustrating, the Gov has kept 50.1% of the shares so that it can still regulate it, so even though there's this phone company that owns all the hardwired infrastructure in the country, it's not allowed to use that for market leverage, and hence gets screwed in terms of share price... to make things even worse, the Gov then hired Sol Trujillio, who's a documented screw-up extraordinairre to run the company. He's getting a salary and annual bonuses that are roughly 1/4 of the average quarterly loss of the company.
THAT'S a Government allowing it's own people to be screwed over by what used to be a national company... |

Country: | I still remember when Henry Weinhard's moved to Washington state, what a shame that was for us Oregonians. Great beer.
Anyways, BUD is gross, not even sure if you could call that stuff actual beer, so don't stress out about it too much. I go through phases, but have been enjoying Pilsner lately, smooth stuff. Żywiec is great too if you have access to it, sharper than Pilsner, about the same alcohol content.

unreal | What does the president have to do with this? Budweiser was sold because the shareholders of the company wanted to sell it and there is nothing any politician can do about it.... unless of course you believe its OK for American companies to buy foreign companies but not vise versa.
This should give you a little comfort....this message was from CEO of InBev, the company who bought Budweiser.
"Budweiser will be brewed in the same breweries ... by the same people, according to the same recipe," said Carlos Brito, InBev's chief executive
officer.
BTW- I don't think that people will be all that loyal to Budweiser in the future not because of the buyout but because of the growing popularity of mircobrews. That's were the future is. Quote:

We better start using our platinum passes more before the parks are gone! | Nothing going to change. Its all about money and long as those parks are making the dough they won't be shut down anytime soon.

Country: | Guys, relax. Pick some European beers this weekend. Taste the goodness
Seriously, the whole Bud range of beers tastes like cold piss.
I'd take a Guinness, Amstel (not the light crap), Corona, Labatt (Canadian eh), Stella Artois anytime. Heck, I'd pick up a Tsingtao (Chinese) before ever getting a Bud!
