    Wait, what? It's over?

    CNN's "breaking news":

Stocks rally to 4-month highs after economists report recession ended in June 2009. Dow finishes up 145 points.
How did I miss this? It ended over a year ago? Where is my pay raise (that I haven't gotten in 3 years)?

How come we're still increasing in vacant units in my community?

How come there are still many vacant businesses all over the place?

How come my wife still can't find a job, and even struggles finding new dog training clients?

    Where did I miss this?

Oh, wait, is it just "post something positive so people feel better" day?

Sentiment about the economy seems to change every week, if not day by day, depending on what report comes out (job creation, GDP, manufacturing, etc.).

The latest I've read is saying we won't slip back to a double dip recession, but it will be a slow and sluggish recovery. It does seem slow and sluggish to me.

I realize your post is being sarcastic, but that's what it made me think of. One week all is getting better, the next it's doom and gloom again.

It is just a game by the market manipulators to fool you in to buying stocks they want to sell.

    Just my theory.

If the gold price starts to go down that is when you can safely bed the economy is getting better.

LMAO that the recession ended in June 2009!!!
These are many of the same dumbf*cks that never saw it coming in the first place.

The reality is that the standard of living the US enjoyed for so long is a goner regardess of how this
plays out or how long it takes to get the jobs back in the economy.

The economy is on a roller coaster ride with years of (small) ups and (unpredictable) downs to follow. Not to mention the other forces (terrorism, war, oil prices, N. Korea, Iran etc) that could also make it much worse.

Despite rumors, I would like to clear the fact that I am *not* the one saying the recession / depression is over - I was just citing a reference on CNN's website.

    not according to RealityTrac.

    http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...WQZMwD9IBUE101

Lenders took back more homes in August than in any month since the start of the U.S. mortgage crisis, foreclosure listing firm RealtyTrac Inc. said last week. Banks have been stepping up repossessions to clear out their backlog of bad loans.

Is this the same study done by college students who claim to be economist's?

Either these guys are sniffing Obama's rear end or the word "Recession" needs to be seriously re-defined.

I heard about this today..... Now watch how Obama latches onto it and uses it in his speeches, Remember he's trying to attract the drone vote, the very voters who take him at his every word.

Please vote Republican in 2012, America can not sustain another 4 years
of Liberal policies that are fiscally and socially destroying the country.

Oil prices will be the biggest factor, IMO.
