Am I the only one who experiences paint falling off my wall when Palin speaks?
Her voice, tone, mannerism, and empty shallow points and questions, and screeching is enough to boil water and strip paint.
I had to turn the TV off today.
And what the hell is up with McCain???
All of a sudden he is distancing himself...from himself???
He is claiming he is not a maverick, never considered himself to be a maverick, and does not want to be known as a maverick.
WTF???
This was his and Palin's ENTIRE platform for the 2008 campaign.
What the hell is going on?
Here's my view...McCain is fighting for his own seat in his own state. Another one of those seats (ala Kennedy) that no one thought would ever be lost.
But, to me, this signals trouble for the GOP. The party of NO is gullably thinking they are going to have a sweep. But, McCain and his people have come to the realization that his platform and the moniker "maverick" may leave the impression of one who does not follow the grain as being too extreme in this political season. In other words, he is trying to distance himself from the perception that he is indeed a NAY vote in the current political climate.
I didn't realize things were so bad in the US until you start talking to the average joe and jane American. I'm in Arizona right now and I will be hiking my favourite local trail in the Superstition Mountains this weekend - only to find out that I had better hurry up as they will be closing parks in this state because there is no money. This isn't Obama's fault (so don't even bother Raider) - it's a symptom of a country on the verge of economic collapse. If they have to close parks, lay off teachers, close schools, let roads fall into disrepair etc to just make ends meet something is really rotten in McCain's own backyard.
There are homes here still to be foreclosed on. Some people haven't paid their mortgage in over a year but are still in their homes as there isn't enough resources/time to kick them all out! There are entire neighbourhoods nearly empty and all you see down the street are for sale signs and empty houses. Homes that sold for 300k in 2006 I can buy today for 110k. And those prices are still falling. Other major nations are raising or are about to raise interest rates - America will have to follow suit soon and when they do expect another wave of desperate people!
What's even more amazing is that there is still hard-core republicans wanting a return to what caused the problems to begin with! Are these people that dim or just gluttons for punishment? They scream about health care spending (which one year's military budget will pay four years of), but find no problem in Bush's 4.5 trillion dollar deficit(without interest payments). They are so blinded by hate that they can't see the forest through the trees. It's also racism - they see my white face and think I think like them. "N**** this and n**** that about Obama. F*** the Mexicans etc etc etc" is what comes out of their mouths. One even after puking out that garbage asked if I will be joining a local church!! Can you freaking believe it!![]()

Great assessment from an outside point of view.
My biggest concern, BIGGEST CONCERN THAT EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE, is the education system.
What in the hell, Fraider wants to b*tch and whine about slogans??? WTF about "No Child Left Behind"???
That was nothing but a slogan and a feel good moment for the GOP.
I think they meant to say "No Dollar Left Behind" because the coffers are empty! Empty!
Every time I turn on the TV, its local and national news talking about teacher layoff, band cancelled, foreign language classes cancelled, after school activities canceled, art canceled, theatre and AP classes canceled, schools closing causing over crowding, violent atmospheres, and a situation and condition that is non-conducive to teaching - and learning!
I am not concerned about health care because if you get sick and go to the ER and have no insurance then that's okay - its covered.
But without an education and a solid education system, we have failed failed failed. And people want to ***** and complain about leaving this bill and that bill for the kids? Who wants to take the blame or credit from a complete and total collapse of the US education system.
The state of california increasing state tuition by 32%; Detroit closing 1/3 of its public schools; the state of North Carolina cutting teacher pay, halting all pay raises for the third year in a row, laying off teachers, closing schools...
That is the real crime - a collapsing education system right before our eyes.
Racists and bigots want things their way and when things are not going their way, its blame the niggers and spics and the camel jockeys. Does that sound familiar? Because if it does, then yes...we suck at being United States.
I am in the process now of looking into volunteering my time to teach at the local schools. I can teach art, history, or civics with no problem. Perhaps even math, biology, and maybe even chemistry. One of my very close and dear friends who I have not talked to in a while dropped a bomb shell on me...he quit his job as a high paying hospital COO and is now teaching high school history. North Carolina has a new program to bring in new teachers to teach and work on teacher certification at the same time.
Indeed, I am very much interested.

I think the title of this post is, was meant to be "ruining" the country.
Hey whitebark. SO you come from the outside and visit AZ and know you know the crux of the US problems? Got it all figured out do ya? Its all just about racism? Get a clue. I'll help you with that.
But first, I will agree as will many, that BUSH was truly a liberal, as he spent more money than anybody except who already? Come on. Who already outspent Bush? On just 400 some days! For the record. CONGRESS did. The Democratically controlled congress did it with just a few meaningless republican votes. Right now, the US deficits are the problem more than anything else. Why. Because the taxes that will burden this nations youth from now until god knows what or when, will absolutely stifle job creation. Ok. As of right now, that has nothing to do with race. Now what caused our economy to collapse in fall 08? Want me to help you some more? In one word. CREDIT. But its more than that. Credit, mainly easy credit, super low interest rates, be doled out to many who would traditionally not qualify, i.e, no doc, 100% mtgs, and of course, predatory lending, led the US into a housing bubble. This housing explosion benefited many for much of the 90s and up until 2006/7. Is this racist yet??? I think many a minority benefited from the the easy credit dont you? Just look at all the jobs created by that bubble too. Keep in mind, Bush wasnt president during the 90s. The foundation of this collapse started long before Bush, and it didnt start because of ANY president. CONGRESS creates laws ans policy here. SO, this housing bubble, went on and on, people flipping, building, sucking equity out, moving up and I was in the building trades and we could see it. It was insane. We who were building the homes, roads etc, we couldn't even afford to buy them, and most of us where I am were Union members. Racist yet??? not. SO this housing /jobs bubble, finally caught up to us when what happened? Need help? OIL HIT $!%) A BARREL/GASOLINE $5.00 a gal. Summer 08. OIL BUBBLE. WHous fault was that? CONGRESS. Created Energy dept way back to make US less dependent on foreign oil. 25 years later what have they done? NOTHING. CONGRESS policy, forbidding US to tap its own oil in the Gulf and Alaska, allows speculators as well as demand from housing bubble to drive prices through roof. AN Chavez and Ahmadnijihad fuel the bubble with confrontational rhetoric, knowing the price will rise further. This sucks the US citizens disposable income and in many cases home equity out. Most commute to work, and fuel prices were weekly, monthly literally sucking them dry. Many living on the edge fell off and the housing bubble was popped big time. Chain reaction, or snowball ensued. Is this racist yet? Im having trouble finding racism in any of this up to this point. It effected everybody and still does. So Bush, who spent more than only one other president (congress) after him has already, gets blamed for stuff that the seeds were planted for way back in another administration. Whatever. He, and Congress still spent too much via generational theft. That didnt/and still doesnt help. All this government spending doesnt seem to be helping much, and if it is , what is it helping? Its helping sustain high oil prices if anything. We have a dilemma, as the jobs that they claim to want to create will require us to USE OIL. LOTS OF IT. Is it racist yet? Well, oil is black so maybe it is. Now yes there is racism in the US. Lots of it. But it is not the cause for the economic situation. Policy caused that. However, racism surely has a lot to do with the political situation. And it is surely being used tirelessly to try and advance an agenda that makes no economic sense, spending trillions of dollars that dont exist. If you oppose that, you are somehow a racist. Why? because the president who is signing off on this is black? Its generational theft, its income redistribution, and if you oppose it, you are a racist, because there is no other legitimate, common sense, economically sound argument they can make to support it. They say it will create jobs. Isnt working yet, except the US government is growing and usurping liberty in little chunks, and taking the fruits of our labor in ever increasing little chunks. Government has a meaningful role to play, but they are now crossing the line, and the America that was built by private industry, yes, capitalism, is suddenly inadequate. If you disagree, you are labeled a racist. Its getting old. IT seems the real racists are those who are using the "race card" in trying to change the definition of racism altogether, to mean if you arent a progressive liberal, you are a racist. To that I say F**K YOU. Go back where you came from after your little hike in the mountain.

If you want to sound factual, then be factual.
Bush inherited a deficit of 5.3T or so. When he left office, that deficit was 11.3T (actually 10.7T but he had authorized - for the seventh time in office - an increase in that ceiling with the most recent being in September 2008 from 8+T to 11.3T. That man and his cronies was blowing through billions and trillions like they were hooked on crack!
What that deficit increase Bush authorized failed to address full funding for two wars and zero funding for Medicare prescription drug discount that had been in effect since 2003! So, since 2003, the US has sponsored a prescription drug benefit to those entitled but has NEVER funded the program. Some estimates have been as high as $1.8T.
So, how can anyone say that the current administration has outspent Shrub is a myth and a fairy tale. That is wishful thinking and a great campaign platform that is simply not true and false.
Not only did that administration blow through well over $5trillion dollars, more than 3T of that coming the last few months, we - us citizens - were left with that huge debt NO MATTER WHO TOOK OFFICE! The Debt was there.
I can only ask you this...if there is a huge gapping hole in the economy of over $11.7T dollars, how and who gets to fill it?
As for racism, to pretend it does not exist and that someone did not experience first hand is laughable.
And that's the sentiment I would have given...if you don't like my racist, bigot, sectarian, militaristic, isolationist, sucsessionist attitude and language - then go back where you came from! Who needs you!
Oh, on your way back across the border leave your money - we do need that.
What I read from Whitebark happens on a daily basis here and I typically hear that same sentiment, attitude, and words uttered. Unfortunately, I hear it from my own coworkers and fellows in the medical field. Racist and homophobic and anti-immigrant talk! I am sick of it and have at times thought about reporting these people. They are qualified to provide health services based on the completion and passing of certifications but are hardly qualified to work and interact in a multi-diverse environment.
You know, this reminds me of the last time I was in Europe, Venice Italy actually. There, of all places, was the typical graffiti in the bathrooms and on the walls. There is something about bathrooms and the need to express opinions.
There, on one wall was;
Go Home American!
Underneath was written;
If it wasn't for us you'd be speaking German.
The point is, discrimination, racism, ethnic violence, etc exists everywhere.
To pretend it doesn't is not only foolish but stupid.
Anyways, telling whitebark to go home simply reminded me of something on a shithouse wall in Venice, Italy.
Wow a pissed off ignorant Republican - who would have thought? Guess I didn't really hear those Republican clowns calling him a nigger and saying the Mexicans (read any brown American) should be rounded up and deported. Nope they didn't really say that - what they really said was that he was from Niger and that they love tacos.
Who needs to get a clue are the apologists for the worst 8 year run in American history.
And sure, tell the guy who is in Arizona to buy a home, expand his successful business into America and is already looking to hire a few local workers. Yep, run them right out of town so families can continue to suffer, continue to lose their homes and so people like you can feel good about supporting stupidity at the highest level.
Ever wonder why Canada is leading the g7 over the past 15 years in growth, gdp to debt ratios etc? It's because of good Liberal governance. We didn't fall for the mystical free market BS and tax cuts uber alles exposed by Republicans. Our housing market didn't implode, our banks gained strength during the collapse and Canada is slated to lead the g7 in growth again this year - despite a Conservative government running our country now(in a minority government beholden to the leftwing parties to pass legislation) and America being our largest trading partner. And guess who is slated to be second this year... AMERICA UNDER OBAMA!
There are two Americas - one progressive and modern and often the envy of the world. And the other is backwards, willfully ignorant, racist, scared and living in the 18th century. Take care on your horse and buggy eh!
Zombie Movie Bong of the Dead - Get it on DVD or via Digital Download Today! ~ "This is a sure winner." - Tommy Chong
I'm beginning to believe you hate America but that is OK because I'm not fond of Canada. Not fond of your socialist beliefs and values. Not fond of your world view. Not fond of your cradle to grave nonsense. Obama won't be around long enough to try and change us into a European style society that much I can promise you.
For the record to Mr Doc Com. You said "As for racism, to pretend it does not exist and that someone did not experience first hand is laughable. " Um. I said "Now yes there is racism in the US. Lots of it. But it is not the cause for the economic situation." Which is what Mr Whitebarks thread was about, the economic situation. So tell me, did you just not read the post, are you just here to flame, or you made a mistake? How is my remark "pretending" there is not racism when I flat out said there was plenty of it.?
I also challenged Mr whitebarks relating our economic situation to racism, which is what it appeared he was attempting. I looked at it again, and maybe he wasnt. It was an econimc statement that ended with a remark about racism, and I simply tried to point out that our econimic problems are not due to racism, but policy, and I certainly agreeed that George Bush is/was and is surely responsible for a lot of that with his ,and Congresses wreckless spending, which our new President has absolutely dwarfed in his short time in office. I didnt say he has accumulated more debt yet, I said he has spent more. Bushes and my god dont forget congress, totoal contribution to the nationl debt was 4.9 trillion for 8 years. Obama and this Congress, with like 8 republican votes, have added 2.175 trillion to the national debt in just 412 days. 1 year, 47 days, 2.175 trillioion additional debt. Thats 5.339 billion A DAY avg. But if you look at just March 2010. 266 billion added, thats 8.58 billion a day. Throughout Bushes 8 years, his average was 1.678 Billion a day, and that is totally absolutley insane to run those kind of deficits every day for 8 years. And yet, Obama is now spending 8.5 billion deficit every day in March 2010. Clearly he and this congress are dwarfing Bush.
Im no fan of GW Bush. But he may prove to be only the second worst thing to happen to this country.
As for the Canadian hypocrit Mr Whitebark.
First off, I am not a pissed off republican. I am a pissed off American, who votes independantly. I am a union member and a small biz owner. I have been denied health care to a pre existing condition and to this day dont have it. Fiscally, I am conservative for sure. When it comes to Education, Healthcare, Energy, I tend to agree that if we are going to call ourselves one nation, that we should all have equal access to these three very necessary elements of society. I dont think CEO should be making 40 million a year while shareholders and employees are be told to cut back, or losing dividends. Thats ludicrous. But as far as other business goes, it should all be free market un constrained so that comptetition creates innovation and downward pressure on prices, while the profit motive gives an incentive for people to get off thier butts and not depend on the federal government (and deficits) to feed and cloth them. I think you are entitled to a home if you want to work for it, a car if you want to work for it, etc... Private industry has co existed with the governemnt and made this Country what it is. Now we suddenly have a government that is very hostile to business, and in some cases justifiabely, such as CEO compensation. But they are killing small business with tax and layer after layer of bearuecracy in order to fill the coffers to pay for thier entitlements, which could be better spent by business creating jobs. Every dollar this government takes, 50% of it is wasted by administration costs or interest on the debt.
Mr Whitebark. You said
We didn't fall for the mystical free market BS and tax cuts uber alles exposed by Republicans.

I didnt vist ElectMe for I already have a taste of your politics. But, I am troubled by the way you, your company, has embraced the free market since you have just stated that such economc theorys are BS. You said it, right there in front of the world, and yet you engage in it freely, willingly, based on a profit motive. Your a hypocrite.
Your country did not experience the housing bubble AMerica did either. Your lucky. Im glad Canadas economy did not suffer the same fate as ours. Thats not how most Americans think, and the racism that you saw is also not how most Americans think. You are judging all by the actions of a few, which is exactly what a racist might do. Hypocrite.
ok, now I visted your very liberal website. Its totally biased obviously.
Dear Mr. Beatty: I want to thank you for your letter of March 29th, 2010. As you know from our meetings together, I highly value the policy and advocacy work that the Chamber of Commerce performs on behalf of its members. Your letter focused on the Liberal Party’s announcement that if we form government, we would freeze corporate tax rates until we can afford to reduce them further. Given the significant fiscal deficit that our country faces, combined with the necessity to make targeted investments in Canada’s economic and social future, my party is proud of this policy decision.
Feed from Media Releases - Liberal Party of Canada
Sounds like Canadians, even liberals, welcome tax freezes, until they can be reduced further. Hmmmmm. Free market. Tax Freezes, Tax reductions. Politcal bias.
HYPOCRITE.

In the venacular, we would call that a generalized statement and a rhetorical comment (as in my summation) to the preceding diatribe.
To lash out at Whitebark for commenting on despicable behavior witnessed first hand is a little too much. Believe it or not, there are people who do not deal with or live with such overt discrimination regularly. This coming from me, a white boy who was born and raised in Maine and went to school with a grand total of, egad...two black people. This coming from a white boy, me, who never heard the N word until I moved to Ohio. My dad's profession as a chemist/engineer working for Calgon Corporation took us to Ohio.
The real awakening is when he took a position with American Cyanamid and was transferred (family and all) to the coal fields of West Virginia. Not only was racism a fact of life and practiced, the clan was quite active and vocal not only in the community but in politics. I remember playing football - Richlands Virginia had an entire side of the mountain blasted and painted a confederate flag that could be seen miles away. No, I was not black, but dammit - I was a Catholic from Maine. That meant I was a no good damn yankee scumbucket.
When you are in the military in southeast asia, you do not see color or ethnicity - at least I didn't. Yeah, it existed. But I quickly found out that we all bleed the same color - red.
As for your math, Obama, and congress...don't forget that the Paulson Plan approved by congreass authorized payments of $750 billion - AT A TIME! Most people did not catch that wording. At a time to imply multiple times of $750billion at a time.
And that is precisely what happened.
Left on the short end were the non-financial sectors - see, the banks, bankers, and financial giants already got their big fat payday. Business had not.
Along comes GM, Chrysler, Ford all with their hand out - not one, not twice, but more than three times.
And, lets not forget, we were STILL involved in two wars that WERE NOT PROPERLY FUNDED by the previous administration.
The other option was to do nothing, pay nothing, save no one, bail out nobody.
I can not imagine what this country would have been like at this very moment if that was the course of action taken.
All this *****ing and griping and moaning about having to pay taxes, all I can think of is WTF were all the sobbing people when all of this was going on? Where was the outrage then that these same people have now? Was everyone simply in a coma from early to mid 2007 (when all this shit hit the fan) to January 2008?
They must have been. Because there seems to be an awful lot of short term memory failure to have transpired.
It was like suddenly people woke up from a coma and said, Damn, what happened to the GOP? What? Now we have a democratic president? And he's black?
Because there are a lot of people out there humping my leg trying to convince me otherwise.
I remember the day I got my "tax rebate" check from the first Bush thing. I stood there thinking, what the hell am I getting this for, the nation has a deficit. I was making 60k at the time and the 500 I got wasnt needed, even though I had credit balances at the time. That means to me thatn many or most of those making what I made, if they werent over extended, didnt need the danged thing to survive. I totally did not ask for or want that. Someobdy told me then give it back. I said, I will if you do and that was the end of that. The second time, I didnt qualify thanks to my internet income. In 2006, I paid over 50k in federal taxes. I had a great year and even my investment in equipment and such couldnt keep me from getting whacked. Well, times have certainly changed. Luckily, I never spent too much or borrowed heavily. I am very disturbed by what is , and has been going on for the past 8 years. The day Obama got elected, me and everybody I knew said he is our president, lets support him, and it actually made me feel proud that America elected somebody other than a whilte male as president. Well, Im sorry, but I have seen enough. From the cop thing, to the attacks on doctors, companies, the campaign lies, and some rather revealing videos that seemed to stay hidden until after the election, wealth redistribution and such, I do not trust him or his intentions. ANd a lot fo people who voted for him dont. Its not just him. Its the whole damned Congress too, but right now, everything is under dem control and the deficit spending is 5.8 billion a day in March. Thats almost 19 dollars a day from every US citizen. Where the hell is it going? I thought they were gong to address healthcare costs, i.e, why a room costs 6000 a day. Instead, they attacked insurance companies who arent the ones charging 6000 dollars a day for a room. I was for reform but they really didnt address the cost issues at all. Why does a tylenol cost $8.00 in a hospital and I can get a bottle for that at walmart? That was the reform we needed and didnt get. Our canadian friend is very politically aligned as evidenced by his liberal website, which is his right, but he is Canadian, he need to keep his politics to Canada. Thats my opinoin on that. But I just love the hypocrisy between his statements and his commercial activities.
I will tend to agree with you that people were complacent with the latter Bush year spending (dem congress too). Many Americans just dont give a $hit about things until it effects them directly. Remeber, unemployment at that time was under 6%. It wasnt until oil hit $150 that everybody was effected, in 2008, and thats when the $hit really hit the fan. The banks new this was going to cause huge defaults, and once they quit giving credit trying to cut their future losses, the grease in the machine was all used up. The credit freeze literally shrunk the economy. The housing bubble, jobs bubble, oil bubble, and easy credit all blew up . Federal spending was already out of control at that time. I agree something had to be done and nobody should argue about the gov "greasing " the wheels temporarily. However, they have to be careful not to prop up housing prices by "enabling" people to stay in homes they simply can not afford. We are overbuilt and the supply/demand needs to reset. Housing was overpriced anyway, and for them to come back down to affordable levels is what we really need. Its painful but its the truth. I have lost equity just like a lot of other people but its not about me. There was a bubble. It popped. If you stuck your neck out, you lost your a$$ I feel bad for you. I know people who did. They coudlnt have known so its not out of ignorance. But, for people who are doing the right thing by paying thiers, and expecting them to now pay for others , that is just wrong. Maybe my house will fall back to what I paid for it in 2002. Too bad for me I guess. But why should my money go to help somebody pay their mortgage who sucked all the equity out of their home and took vacations, bought new cars, toys, etc and now cant make the payment. Thos that lost their jobs, they get 96 freaking weeks unemployment now. Thats quite generous and it also make them dependant on a government check. I have numbers of friends collecting that right now, I feel for them. They made 60, 70k year over year and spent all of it and they are struggling. Sad. They saved nothing and now there is no work, yet we talked about this very situation in the late 90s. Ya know what saved my a$$. Domain names. I spent a lot on them. They paid me back 50 times. Im lucky. everybody thought I was nuts. Then they all wanted in after the the party was over. Typical let somebody else take the all the risk but share the reward should you get one. Im sure many a domainer has experienced the same thing.

Yeah, Doc Com and WhiteBark are the biggest hypocrites we have on the forum, Well done for exposing them for what they really are.
A word of caution though, If you prove these liberal pie holes wrong about anything or speak about Obama negatively, it will upset them greatly, so great they will go out of their way to demonize you personally, Labeling you a Bigot and a Racist, I see whitebark has already attempted to do that. And if you live in the South and disagree with Obama policy, they will assume your a member of the KKK... Or if you mention the word "God" they will assume your a Christian fanatic and start bashing Christian leaders....
I learned long ago that you simply cant have an honest debate with these kind of people, People who use gutter tactics like this are not worth debating, It's much better to expose these fools for what they really are rather than debate them on a intellectual level.

Elect Me will have you reading till your eyes are sore!![]()
What are you talking about? If you click on "Read the Full Story" you'll be lucky to find a article over 3 sentences long, The only way a readers eyes could be sore is from clicking through over 850 2-4 sentence articles, but if the reader had any intelligence at all, they would leave after the first 2 or 3.
Over 850 articles of this crap and NOT one person posted a comment in any one article....
Correction, I just did. http://www.electme.ca/2010/04/minimu...ril-1/#respond
I read a lot of political web sites, both from the left and right, and I have to say this is by far the worst political site I have ever seen, The site feeds the reader with the LEAST amount of information (which is completely biased) and asks the reader to post a response... Absolutely laughable.
