You cant tell me that apologizing for the USA has made Obama appear as a strong leader to the rest of the world... What it's done is made him look weak, very weak. And dictators like Kim Jong-il will exploit that weakness when given the chance.
Yeah... the last time we had a leader whose weakness invited the only foreign attack on the continental US since the War of 1812 was September 11, 2001.

Kim Jong Il is likely not even competent at this point, and the saber rattling is for domestic consumption in NK for a "crisis" situation to deal with dissent, such as it is in NK, with the succession of power to his idiot son.

But, yeah, whenever some tinpot dictator makes noise, he should be assured of getting the rapt attention of the fearful US President. Nonsense. NK does not have missiles that can reach the US (not even Hawaii), and getting a workable warhead onto a workable missile is not an easy, simple, or direct consequence of demonstrating rudimentary capabilities in either of those areas.

We can readily address any military action that NK could contemplate, and they know it. They are a child pitching a fit for attention, and it's obvious that the non-parents here are not at all capable of understanding how to address that type of situation.

Oh boy, Obama should say nasty things because the NK's are up to their usual verbal theatrics.... Real life is not a flamewar on an internet forum.

Pfft... it is disappointing what cowards Americans have become. I grew up knowing we had 20 minutes warning to impact of everything the Soviets could launch. WTF is wrong with people these days - some idiotic posturing and words from the world's asylum for paranoia, and everyone wets their pants, cowers, and wants to hear the president act like the other half of a pair of drunk blowhards at the corner bar.

You are just so damn right there! Reminds me that I should start my own bunker business, heard they make millions with it in the US.

Buy some old in-ground missile silos in the midwest, retrofit them (well, maybe only the top 3-4 stories) and then sell them for a huge profit.

This is a gross misstatement on your part. Perhaps you forgot about the first World Trade Center attack??? or how about Jan. 24th 1975? You know what happened that day? A Puerto Rican nationalist group (FALN) claimed responsibly for the bombing of historic Fraunces Tavern.

I'm sure will have more attacks with Obama. He's weaker than the peanut farmer.

Please don't downplay the gravity of the 9/11 attack. The 1993 WTC bombing (or any other so-called "attack") is TOTALLY not comparable in scope and scale. So an illegal immigrant mugging an old lady down the road is also a "foreign" attack? LOL!

The "duck and cover" drills in elementary school.

Yes, they're cheap and cost about $50K (and up) to renovate into a nice home.

Advantages - LARGE yard (the only above ground structure is a small house - if anything). It stays a consistent temperature - around 67-75 degrees, and it's strong - even a tornado would do little damage.

Some of them look extremely nice, too, with just 3 levels done and then you see how much more room they have.

You conveniently forget the Carter years and the Iran Hostage Crisis, it may not of been on US soil, but it clearly showed the end result of a weak President taking the diplomatic approach.... The seizure of our Embassy was only to last a few days, but thanks to Jimmy Carter (your hero I'm sure), he turned it into a diplomatic crisis that lasted 444 days.

And let us not forget 1961, The Vienna summit when JFK met with Nikita Khrushchev, It was Kennedy's ego and inexperienced handling of this meeting that led to the Cuban Missile Crisis, which nearly caused a nuclear war between the U.S. and USSR.

What's so laughable about you Liberals is that History teaches you NOTHING.

WASHINGTON – The United States has positioned more missile defenses around Hawaii as a precaution against a possible North Korean launch across the Pacific, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday. In case you're not aware of it, the US governments (BOTH Republican and Democratic) have a loooong history WORKING WITH "tyrants" and "terrorists".

She is referring to the Arms for Hostages thingy thing.

You know - the Iran-Contra affair spearheaded by the teflon coated WAYYYY far left president.

Sure, that Iran-Contra affair that Oli North took the fall for.

Yup, that honorable party that slept with not ONE - but TWO tyrants and radical regimes and terrorists groups at once.

So, spin away...

Which would significantly raise the stakes imo...
