And when the economy recovers and it will, what do you think will happen to inflation? This Country is headed for one of the biggest economic train wrecks in American history, You wait and see.
Even though more Republicans are coming up for re-election in 2010, I strongly believe they will re-gain control in both houses, It will be the year that America wakes up and throws out the bums who got us into this mess.
And then we can throw out the last bum in 2012
Please vote Republican in 2012, America can not sustain another 4 years
of Liberal policies that are fiscally and socially destroying the country..
What does inflation have to do with it? Inflation is the value of one country's currency compared to another, usually by comparing the GNP of that nation divided by the total amount of money (and credit) available.
When both presidents (Bush and Obama) pumped billions (or trillions?) into the US economy without really thinking about adding GNP (they added most of it in the form of available credit) that severely weakened the value of the US dollar. If they were smart (and some of the money was used for this) they would have given it to states to improve on the GNP - tax incentives to create your own business, money for projects (highway projects, needed maintenance and expansion of the infrastructure), and other ways to imrpove the GNP. Instead they gave most of it to banks so it could go into the pockets of executives. YES, both administrations did this.
When the economy improves, if the current administration is smart (and all this isn't just dependent on Obama - people tend to forget that the house and senate have more power than he does) then they will manage the amount of money available while monitoring the GNP. When things look better the GNP will increase and then the value of the US dollar will increase. As long as banks and credit agencies don't open up the floodgates and let everyone with a pulse have a $500,000 credit card it won't have too much of an affect on us.
When the value of our dollar goes up the price on anything that has to do with anything beimg imported SHOULD go down (granted - most merchants wouldn't lower prices because of this - but that would at least allow more money for them to expand etc..). Gas and oil products (yes, that also depends on production, too), most products have a lot steps outside the country, etc.
Just because the economy is going to improve doesn't mean that inflation will kick in and kill it.

I think the time is coming for a third party to be a real contender. The earliest I see this happening is 2016, but perhaps that would be too soon.
I vote for people, not parties.
Not to mention shifting the blame for that same train coming into the station at 200 MPH and no brakes as we saw the past couple of years.
FYI:
Ron Paul's son Rand Paul, is running for the US Senate in 2010:

I look at this list you posted Big, and it's almost comical that you would list people that have been blasted every way possible by the left wing media and the leftist loons on this forum, except of course the last one, cute
Why no mention of the more serious contenders like Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Mike Huckabee, Tim Pawlenty, Bobby Jindal, Charlie Christ or Haley Barbour? or are all these unknowns to you?.
Newt is another serious contender and you did mention him, but he's been blasted as well for what he's done in his personal life.

An independent movement will never work because of the way the system is set up. Third parties only get the party you don't want elected. Ron Paul understands this and is the reason he will not leave the Republican party. Conservatives best shot is to change the Republican party from within.
A fairy tail character... or at least all republicans pretend he is for control....
thats right, I am talking about JESUS!
Diabolo?

since the primary elections are over, do you see a change in the rankings or how have those you mentioned elevated themselves within the Republican party?
as it is now , Micheal Steele is the chairman of the GOP, but we all know he's not the leader behind their agenda

Bobby Jindal was a contender until he gave the republican view of last years speech by Obama. His ratings plummeted.
Sanford of SC was a very strong mention for contender until he wandered the Appalachian Trail to Argentina.
Romney, Paul, Huckabee suffer from having been defeated by a less than popular early contender by the name of John McCain. The GOP primary was over so quickly in 2008 that one has to wonder was McCain that strong? (possibly) or were the other contenders that weak? (possibly). It remains a scar on their record having lost the primary in 2008. It is very difficult for any candidate to be taken seriously again when the lost a previous race keeps getting brought up. And for the record, once again - I am a huge McCain fan and was on his Exploratory Committee for NC for the 2008 run.
Haley Barbour - I am a HUGE fan of him and his no-nonsense, call it like I see it approach. I recall when Katrina hit - rather than b*tch and whine and moan and cry about this and that and when will this come, he wasted no time. Yes, New Orleans got hit by katrina. But many forget that Katrina Ground Zero was Bay Saint Louis, right smack where many of my relatives live.
When the idiot Gov of LA, leBlanc, was turning away aide and assistance to look as if she had it all under control, Barbour was saying BULLSHIT! We'll take everything you have and want to send. We set up a 250 bed hospital in Waveland, MS, the same mobile hospital that Leblanc and Mayor Nagin declined to allow into New Orleans - on Day One!
Barbour took control and was in control even before Katrina hit - ordering mandatory evacuations and activating the National Guard one day before landfall. All every one hears about is New Orleans this and New Orleans that. Barbour did not wait on nor did he count on FEMA and Bush. HE was in charge of Mississippi. And have Trent Lott lose his house on the coast really got things going and done.
To me, it is no surprise that we are still hearing about Katrina 5 years later and the effect on New Orleans. We are not hearing about the entire coast of Mississippi being wiped out, the casino industry on the Gulf Coast being wiped out, and the damage and destruction and deaths in Mississippi. Why? Because Barbour did not wait or count on anyone else except himself, his staff, and the people of Mississippi.
Now, he is Chairman of the Republican Govenors Association after the resignation (ouster) of Mark Sanford.
So yes - I would personally give Haley VERY STRONG consideration in 2012 or 2016. But, as in 2008 - for me it would hinge on who his running mate would be. Anyone would trump the GOP VP selection of '08.
