Why I don't pay much attention to this section anymore.

I have to tell you that I used to spend a lot of my time in the political section here on DNF. Now it just bores me. Arguing with the same old people about the same old issues is like beating your head against a wall. Some of you(hard lefties) need to put a gun to your head and pull the trigger since there is no help for you. Those of you on the right here need to stop and really think is it worth arguing with the lefty looney toons on here? Personally I think its a BIG waste of time.

I agree it is a waste of time. As for pulling the trigger, I don't own one and have no desire to. Likewise for hard lefties. Sounds like advice you should be giving gun owners.

Don't you think the lack of respect for other people's political views, childish name calling, and the wildly exaggerated opinions and lies being posted as facts might be to blame as well?

I for one am hoping both sides will focus on the issues and find common ground for the issues we can agree on. America needs cooperation and intellectual discourse. What America does not not need is the likes of Glenn beck and Randy Rhodes interjecting hyperbole into the discussion....

I own numerous guns. No, sorry to disappoint - I am not going to shoot myself. Nor am I going to shoot anyone else simple because they have a different opinion, color, religion, or belief than I do. That is not 'personal protection'. That is "personal projection" - differing with others because they do not think, speak, talk, and walk like you.

the reason i dont get involved in these threads much anymore is that people are hopelessly stuck in the narrow right vs. left states of mind and inevitable pissing contests. it is the terminal stage for any thread that starts here, someone always has to take it down that road to nowhere. like there are two poles and people somehow think the entire world revolves around them, when its just your own reality and you refuse to see outside of it. you can just replace every mention of 'republican' or 'right' in this subforum with 'coke' and every mention of 'democrat' or 'left' with 'pepsi' and it would all be no less ridiculous.

With the tea party, countless rallies, and large crowd gatherings - this really became a hoods off election movement allowing the bigots, racists, and radicals to move freely about in the crowd.

It was quite incredible to see, 2010, people gathered along the steps of Congress spitting on members of Congress and calling them "niggers".

A party of bigots? racists? Well, they claim they are not racist and to prove it, they have a black chairperson of the GOP and two GOP black members were just elected to Congress - the first time since 1997.

In the modern era (1900 - present), the GOP has seated a grand total of 6 members of Congress.

To be quite honest, I keep referring to the GOP as they when, in reality, I am a registered Republican. For those that call the dems left extremists, the GOP has gone so far off course and out of touch with those that sent them to office I can not support their efforts.

Come on - read my siggie. Look at the shape this country is in and you'll clearly see the type of leadership we had.

Do you guys hear that? That's the sound of the ignore list feature working so well. Sometimes that is all you have to do to get rid of forum trolls and live a more peaceful co-existence in the domain forums.

Anyhow, bd77, don't let the political section get to you. It IS a big waste of time and gets people too fired up. But to be fair there are loony toons on BOTH sides of the fence. That is where the problems lie.

So, would that be a Truth Whore or a Lie Whore?

Seems like each would work in certain contexts.
