What I can't understand is why people like Raider, who seem to care about our country and seem to have enough common sense to understand whats going on would let themselves be manipulated and used by the greedy rich and powerful forces that control everything for their personal benefit.

When 20% of the people own and control 96% of a country's wealth common sense should tell you 80% of the people are getting screwed.....and it baffles my mind to see so many of those 80% actually supporting this process.

So, what are you saying, that the democratic party is the party to save us from "getting screwed". I don't necessarily disagree that it's not fair.
However, I would say that this is all a bit of an oxy-moron because Nancy Pelosi and Obama are very likely, members of that 20%.
Seems to me, that If you are a supporter of the democratic party, that's a discrepancy that can't be ignored, if you want to be taken seriously.

I kind of figured you were one of those "Spread the Wealth" types... One you demands we TAKE from people who worked their ass off to get where they are in life, while you sit on your ass eating donuts filling out Welfare forms.

If it's anyone who's getting screwed in this country, its the high income earners who pay FAR more in taxes than anyone else... Taxes that lead to Growing the size of Government and funneling money to the non-working class with no work ethic, people like you H2FC.

I'll tell you exactly how they're getting screwed. Eight of every 10 people share ONLY 4 pennies of every dollar of the wealth of this country while the balance, 2 of every 10 get to share 96 cents of that dollar. You may think this is fair but I don't.

Its true those 20% of high earners also own or control the companies that produce that wealth but its also true the big majority of the workers of those companies belong to the 80% who are getting screwed. It doesn't matter that some democrats are in the 20% group who benefit from the labor of the 80%. What matters is the loopholes and laws of this country allow the greedy rich to get richer while the poor and middle class continue to get poorer.

The depression we're suffering now is not being felt by the rich 20%....its all being assorbed by the poorer 80%. Our country under republican rule that benefits the rich at the expense of the poor cannot continue to enjoy economic feasibility. The republicans won back the House but the voters won't be so supportive when they see its the same ole crowd that almost destroyed this country under Bush.

Raider, if your not a multi millionaire or billionaire and vote republican (the evilest of the 2) your just dumb period. Thats like my buddy who works at walmart and votes republican. I told him hes voting against his own fair pay, health benefits, and general workers rights and himself out of a job. It's called self check out! Before you know it there will be one person working in each walmart, a rent a cop making sure everyone goes through the self check out and checks receits. I have a super walmart by my house thats huge and has about 10 people working with 20 self check out machines.

I already get the part about you wanting to spread the wealth or even out the playing field.. So let's cut to the chase, 3 easy questions for you;

What percentage in taxes do you think is fair for the Rich to pay?

When you tax the Rich to the extent you want to tax them and they lay off millions of workers to pay for that extra tax, what is your approach to putting those people back to work?

And once the Rich pay all that extra money in taxes, how would you distribute the money to the 80% you say are getting screwed?

It's not being felt by Millions of other people and most of them are FAR from Rich.

One place where it's NOT being felt is in the Public Sector, where most Government employees were able to hold onto their jobs, While 4 MILLION Americans in the Private sector lost theirs in the last 2 years. Ask these bastards in the public sector to take a cut in pay and they run to the streets with picket signs in hand. We all sacrifice but they DONT.

Do you know that some Librarians are earning between $200K and $400K a year in pension pay alone? Hard to believe but it's true... Many Fire Fighters and Policemen are receiving the same, and they'll keep receiving that amount every single year until the day they die, and we the tax payer are on the hook for it.

And yet you DON'T complain about this at all, All we hear out of your mouth is the "Greedy Rich" What about the GREEDY RICH in Washington DC?, or the most GREEDY RICH Bastard of the all' AL GORE? Your idol.

It doesn't seem to bother you that Government takes from the working class in this country to line their own pockets, By TAKE, I mean increasing our Property Taxes, Income Taxes, Sales Taxes, Gasoline Taxes., Vehicle Taxes and every other **cking Tax they impose on us, giving themselves outrageous pay raises and padding their pensions on OUR dime. Your not concerned about that are you? NO, your much more concerned about PRIVATE Sector Businesses earning Money in the free marketplace aren't you? the people you refer to as "RICH"

This is where we part differences, I believe most people in this Country should be self-reliant, There are cases where many cant work due to a disability, and I'm open federal assistance for these people, But if your able bodied and have the ability to work and earn a living, you should work, and you should keep as much of your OWN money as possible, Welfare was created to help people on crisis, I was NOT intended to serve as a permanent source of income.

You on the other hand believe in the Welfare State, that it's OK for people to be reliant on Government for however long they want, that it's OK to remain on the welfare role while companies like Microsoft or Google pickup the tab.
