An colorless tasteless gaseous substance spread around the country that blinds people to reality. Fortunately, some are immune to it.![]()

The economy, the war, the debt................
The GOP is crippled by the bush legacy and the people have had enough. About time.
BTW I'm no fan of either but Mcc is too much McSame.
(If he wins) Illegal contributions, ACORN/Voter Registration Fraud, Bush Bashing / Revenge voting, left-wing media and misguided fools easily impressed by charlatans and slick talking Chicago politicians.
Profoundly influenced by #Bauhaus, @Nameslave unrepentantly embraces #Minimalism in his #multimedia portfolio. His early works include an experimental adaptation of Chekhov’s Cherry Orchard inspired at least partly by Robert Fripp. His totally irrelevant M.Ed. dissertation examines Organizational Culture and Change Management.
Even though Obama b!tched and moaned about the political threads, he won because he seeded Google with more optimized thread titles than his opponent, and inevitably funneled more traffic to the links in his signature.
Or, maybe he just received more votes... I have no idea.![]()

interesting statement...
could it be hope?
that the son of a white woman and a black man, be elected president in such a short time.
it's the melting of america that produced obama and that includes all that is within.
i think many see his mixed race as giving him the credibility of having already "crossed the isle" of racisim and understanding, on both sides of the fence.
thus, making him the most likely person to heal that divide.
the divide that has kept this country from making true progress across the board and down the line.
this historic event will be a mark in time, not just for the USA but for the world.
imo...

In a non-partisan analysis there are several major factors why McCain lost this election, these include (and not in any specific order):
- Continual change in choice of the 'message'
- Not laying out clear policies
- Linked clearly to Bush policies
- Support for the war in Iraq (and here declaring a victory more important than a retiring from an 'unjust' war)
- Collapse of the financial institutions and his inability to understand the reasons for it
- Unable to create a policy to deal with the economic situation
- Negative campaigning
- Choice of a blatently unsuitable candidate as Vice President
- Repeatedly showed signs of slowness in thought processes and at times mental confussion
- Was percieved to have sold out on his principles to the extreme right of the Republican Party
- Supporting privatising Social Security
- Not perceived as being serious about tackling Climate Change
- Perhaps because McCain did not have the real backing of the Republican Party (I am sure history will divulge this)
- Could not run an organised campaign
- Flip flopping on Bush's Tax policies
- Not being able to show convincingly he was for 'Change'
and many, many more reasons.
The above points all played to a geater or lesser extent with the majority of voters.
Indeed it may well be that Obama should have been much further ahead in the polls, and although this may be an uncomfortable satement it still has to be said in the spirit of academic analysis, perhaps if Obama had been 100% white he may well have been.
Obama has managed to generally show strengths in exactly the areas where McCain showed weakness.
But what is remarkable is that now, at this time in American history, the majority of Americans are prepared to support a candidate of mixed race rather than someone who is 100% caucasion.
If McCain had on 3 or 4 of the appoints above held different views or conducted himself differently then this would have been a much closer race that he may well have won. But politics just like domaining looking back and saying 'what if' is no consolation at all.
The Republican Party now has to dust itself off and reorganise itself so as in the future it becomes a political force again. (Prolonged one party politics is no good for any country.)
I would hope that the one thing the Republican Party does not do is use McCain as a scapgoat, it is the policies more than the candidate that has lost this election for the Republican Party.
Oh, and Obama gave the message of HOPE whilst McCain was continually broadcasting the message of DOOM.

Because Obama owns VoteForChange.com !
First, the election is still going so no one has "won" the election. Not a single state has reported their results and you won't see any start until after 7:00PM EST tonight.
The reason Obama has a lot of support is because he has been saying all of the things people want to hear including many things McCain should have been saying (Obama's latest commercial here: "The question isn't were you better off 4 years ago, the question is will you be better off in 4 years" - McCain should have said that).

After seeing the mess we have not only made for ourselves but on a global scale, I think YES, peeps have come to the realization that we MUST have a difference of the path we had been on for nearly 8 years.

I also stated that, and post. Some of us just can't get over this, like smoking, which I don't do.subj. irony.

I think Mccain campaign said it best:
Mccain:
"He's a decent family man citizen"
"Who you don't have to be scared of as President"
Sarah Palin:
"Obama resonating, even with Alaskans, that message of change..."
