Question Will Blockbuster be the next on the auction Block?

I have never liked them so it does not matter to me.

I am hearing that Blockbuster may be on the brink of filing bankruptcy.

This is sad to me, I actually like them and my local Blockbuster. I've been an online member for years and enjoy trading in my movies for $1.99 when my wife and I want to rent out something from the store.

Besides - even if you like the company or not, companies closing their doors needs to stop or else we'll never recover from this recession / depression.

Another iconic company closing is bad news, but would not be unexpected, unfortunately many such companies face such problems. Remember that with each such company that goes the number of unemployed rises and the local economy suffers as local tax revenue falls off and personal wealth drops so other retailers suffer as a result.

Never invest a dime in anything Huizenga is involved in. Shareholders equity always gets thrown under the bus, yet they manage to sell their shares (or the company) for a good price, and keep giving themselves inflated salaries, perks. In particular, I remember the Nationsrent fiasco a few years ago.

Less of a joke than you may think.
LackLusters "family friendly" policy of not even having softcore erotica but gladly stocking all the Saw movies has a lot more of an affect than people believe.
We have an independent video store in my neighbourhood.
It doesn't have the latest and greatest block busters on BluRay (not that anyone that doesn't own a PS3 actually has a player yet), but it does have TV series and porn... From 6-9pm every night it's got at least half a dozen people in it when I walk past with the dog.
