1) So my question is, what if someone have the domain amazon.xxx, will that person get a C&D letter? Is there a 100% or very high chance to win IF amazon.com sue the domain owner? But amazon can also be defined as a word?
Please advise.
2) What if the domain owner have used amazon.xxx as a redirection to another website (e.g. a poker site), will the domain owner be dead or alive?
Amazon is a river too (uncase you forgot or didnt know)
In a famous case, Amazon.gr was a bookstore and it was obviously in violation of the tm.
if you use the site purely as you say to have a site all about the Amazon Warriors, Women, river, etc... then no problem.
Use it to redirect traffic then a C&D could follow on the basis your using the name simply to ride off the back of Amazons traffic. This also applies even if you use the site to talk all about the amazon river but then have lots of PPC links or ad links that are considered a deliberate attempt to get Amazons traffic to click them.
