Other methods have been suggested, for example:

    Rules for Attorney Hunting Season

    1) Any person with a valid State hunting license may harvest attorneys.
2)The taking of attorneys with traps or deadfalls is permitted. The use of currency as bait is prohibited.
3)The killing of attorneys with a vehicle is prohibited, unless it is an ambulance being operated in reverse gear.
4)It is unlawful to chase, herd, or harvest attorneys from a helicopter or other aircraft.
5)It shall be unlawful to shout "celebrity crime!", "cybersquatter!", "Porn-Dollars!" or similar inflammatory expostulations in a crowded courthouse.

(Customized to remove extremely vitriolic and insensitive remarks about lawyers featured on similar lists.)

And, oh yeah. I've been a lawyer for fifeen years, done everything from defending megacorps to suing the excreta out of them, from prosecuting wife beaters to defending drug dealers, from recovering Sex.Com to taking PersonalPorn.com away from copyright-infringing pornographers. Latest verdict: August 2, 2002, in Roger Benson v. State of Oregon, for 43 days of wrongful imprisonment due to misidentification of my client as a felon due to errors in State Police computerized fingerprint files: $306,500. Call me when you just have to talk to the funniest, most opinionated Internet lawyer available. Attitude's free

    "the funniest"

Okay, Charles, now you're hitting me where I live.

btw, folks, dnforum is a swell place and Gregr is a swell guy who is entitled to run this great site however he would like. Some of you know that I've been posting on places like usenet since the 1980's, and that I've put a lot of time into doing stuff for free. My personal preference that the stuff I write for free remain available for free is in no way a statement that I have any kind of issue with Gregr, free enterprise, or anyone's right to make a profit on their hard and admirable work.

In any event, many of you know that I have a doctorate in electrical engineering, and am a patent attorney licensed to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office. I practice in Philadelphia, and reside in Delaware, and hence also provide Delaware incorporation agent services.

I have been involved in domain name disputes and litigation since the days of the old NSI policy. I am on the ICANN Deletes Task Force, the UDRP Review Task Force, and helped draft the ORSC bid for the job that was arranged to be assigned to ICANN.

If you have a problem, feel free to send me email, but please do not post it in a public forum or send me PM's at dnforum.

Most state ethics boards consider recitations of "winning cases" to be deceptive attorney advertising, since (a) your situation may be different from the situations in such cases and (b) omission of losing cases from such lists is per se deceptive. Yes, I've won a bunch, lost a few, and settled plenty. That doesn't have any bearing on what your problem might be. While I comment freely on other folk's cases, I save the arguments in my own cases for the forum where it matters.

I have been urged to come back to DNForum now that John has decided to come back. I have the utmost respect for John, Ari, Charles and Steve and hope that I will be able to contribute a little, too.

I have been practicing law for more years than I care to count, but have been specializing in Domain Defense Litigation for almost 4 years, and like John, have had my share of wins and losses. At one point in this career, I agreed to represent John Zuccarini in Federal Court and negotiate for him on a number of domains, and I'm still paying for that decision.

A couple of years ago I started the Domain Defence Fund for those Domain Developers who cannot afford to defend their domains in court or in UDRP actions and the Fund has grown with over 100 members. If you have any interest in joining the Fund, you can email me at howard@neulaw.com and I will be glad to explain how it works.

I've also handled negotiations for sale and transfer of domains, defended C & D letters, and provide escrow facilities at reasonable rates even if I don't handle the transaction.

I've enjoyed being a part of this forum and the input that we get from GeorgeK and PDJones and others.

Indeed, it'll be fun to see which avatars each of the esteemed lawyers uses to "brand" themselves.

Hmmm, no spinning globes, though, please.

I'm an attorney-I work in a small company on IP issues but I really just started out a year ago. When I first passed the bar I worked at a (now busted) internet company on employment contracts and NDAs. I did do some IP there also and I really enjoyed it, so when the company shut down I pretty much knew what field I was interested in.

I'm bummed there is a charge for posting on this site now since I really enjoyed lurking for a long time before first posting a few weeks ago...

Someone I sent a C&D to actually posted on here and I happened across it-we worked it out. Don't you need a female (however inexperienced on domain issues) lawyer's point of view? ( :
