Buying a Typo Of a Competitor

Buying a Typo Of a Competitor and redirecting it to another site.

I know I would get the ooh aah no thats wrong and it will get you into hot water on this forum.

I have so much opportunity to do this. It makes you wonder why companies in business on the internet leaves them self open like this. Are they just playing dumb.

In the real business world, companies are ruthless to gain market share from their competitors in many forms.

I have'nt purchased the names , but sometimes wonder, why would you leave your self open like this.

    Cheers

The fact that this action is illegal may be the reason why it's not too popular. Although I have seen it done several times before. Hosting companies come to mind.

Re: Buying a Typo Of a Competitor

It is illegal under unfair competition. There was a situation between GM of Ford (I believe those were the 2 car manufacturers) where GM used metatags of Ford and Ford products to interecept traffic from search engines.
