from my experience, 3 times in the same situation,
the companies strategy of contacting the ppc provider worked.
one of the times i think they actually did think the ppc page was my own company and the correct contact details, the other times, they knew what i was up to, and wanted to stop the flow of money and my profiting from their traffic.
it actually worked, since my domain was removed , ive not been bothered to redirect or do anything with it.
for other cease and decist letters ive received, they did not contact the ppc company, but i deleted the name anyway, and it does not resolve.
i have quite a few domains now that dont resolve anywhere, and i never heard anything again from any of the companies.
what this shows is that , as long as you dont do anything with the name, a company does not care too much - ( unless on the very rare occasion it is a very famous violation/typo or stealing a heck of a lot of traffic. )
note - also trademarks dont apply unless you are using it for commercial purposes, is that correct ? so an unresolving trademarked domain name, would not pose much liability. Is this correct ?
