DNF$: 61 | eBay scam advice Three days ago I bought ccc.com domain on ebay and paypal seller $300. The seller did not pushed the domain to my enom account but simply changed the whois information to my exept for email(got this information from my paypal payment). After that he said that everything has been done and stopped answering to my emails.
Please advice |

Country: | Same as above, report it and open a dispute plus leave them negative feedback on eBay (hopefully you didn't leave feedback already).

Country: | Take a deep breath and give the seller a chance to respond to your emails. According to your Sunday AM post, it has only been three days since you bought the name, paid for it, and the seller pushed the name. Seems like pretty good service for an ebay transaction that probably ended on a Thursday and you are posting first thing on a Sunday. Maybe there is a strange concept called the weekend in the sellers world.
Its one thing to have someone "not respond to emails" on a weekend, vs. the seller telling you to "bug off" in an email exchange. Take a deep breath and see what happens on Monday in the seller's time zone.

DNF$: 1,320 Location: Australia | I am in the process of a dispute with a seller over 2 domains. I bid, won and paid then got an email from the seller saying price was too low and they wanted an additional $200. As it was paid for via paypal ebay will NOT open a dispute (it must be done via paypal) I have one day left to wait for my judgment.
In your case, I recommend sending the seller instructions on how to transfer the domain - perhaps they are new and think that by changing whois that they have pushed the domain to you?
If you hear back from the seller refusing transfer open a dispute with paypal and then escalate immediately to a claim. The seller then has to prove to paypal that they have transfered the domain name to you. Paypal hold the payment until they decide who is in the right.
It wont help you get your domain name, but I have successfully had my money refunded twice before in similar circumstances.
I know its hard not to get tempted when you see a great name at a low price, but after my negative experiences with domains on ebay I now only bid on auctions where the seller has lots of great feedback or I have dealt successfully with them before. |
