Just wondering if Game Titles like for PS2 games have copyright issues i.e. if u reg a domain called it and then sell it.

actually if you registered a domain before the game was created, but you then used the domain to sell that game, you would not be ok at all. you'd be sued muy rapido.

Half Life - released in 1998.

halo.com as well. It's a product branding company. Totally unrelated to the game.

I emailed the guy who has halflife.com at one point and he said Sierra had emailed him as well, and was unwilling to pay his price. Sounds like somebody is going to just sit on the name for eternity then because they are most likely the largest offer he will be getting.

People need to be mindful not to mix them up. Easy to do, but it instantly confuses the issue.

TRADEMARK = "MARK" UNDER WHICH YOU TRADE (DO BUSINESS)

Yeah, I get the impression people tend to sweep the difference under the rug... which only helps to make people more confused when someone comes after them. Registered copyright, registered state/federal/international trademark... the confusion multiplies exponentially. As long as discussions like this stay on the right foot, there's an opportunity to learn a little more (and not unlearn stuff... which always stinks).

It's happened before, and will continue to happen.

Konami announced on Oct. 15 that Metal Gear Solid 3 will be shipped to US
shelves on Nov. 17, a month earlier than the Japanese release. Someone else
registered the name metalgearsolid3.com March this year, and it redirects to
a forum that was recently restored.

Looking forward to that game.
