Get the domain - then they let it drop

UCAS at www.ucas.com threatened to sue me for

    ucas.org and ucas.net

So i gave them the domains

Now one has dropped and the other has expired

Same with bafta.net i gave it to BAFTA for £10 because they said they own a trademark and now :

    ucas

If you have a different use for them I see no conflict of interest!

Trademark is related to use one gives to it..

    besides it's a 4 letter acronim = many uses

Do not let suing treats go with no merit

    Still any ideas??

UCAS has a logo that reminds me of Amazon's.

Also, UCas = University of Casablanca

That may actually be the reason why ULTSEARCH changed to a Hong Kong address.
Profoundly influenced by #Bauhaus, @Nameslave unrepentantly embraces #Minimalism in his #multimedia portfolio. His early works include an experimental adaptation of Chekhov’s Cherry Orchard inspired at least partly by Robert Fripp. His totally irrelevant M.Ed. dissertation examines Organizational Culture and Change Management.

UCAS is the system every UK student goes through to apply for university

and I was forwading them to www.scraptuitionfees.com

which had ucas figures on their site

They said we was passing off as UCAS and was going to sue for loss of earnings as well as the domains.

Had to give them names and write a letter saying I wouldn't register a name with UCAS in again.

All this - then they let them drop ..........

    Unclewilco now has ucas.org

BAFTA were less demanding - but still have let it drop

My argument is that if they let it drop they cannot be serious of its value to them or their business.
I had an approach from a New York solicitor about a major personality name I bought. They wanted me to hand it over - I told them it was for sale, conditional upon them agreeing not to allow it to drop again - they agreed and bought the name (nice profit )
However using ucas.org to forward to a student "demo" type site reacting against student fees maybe wasn't very clever? (Fun though!).
Maybe wilco will use it for the United Coalition of Apex Sheds

The threat was due to bad faith use and marketing, not just because you owned it. If marketed as an acronym only, it would likely not have been a problem. There could be many other potential acrnoym uses not related to the original owners. Here are some common valid uses:

Others possibilites off the top of my head:
    University of Cincinnati(Colorado/Connecticut/California) Art Society
    United Citizens Against Spam
