Thanks for any info.

I have a domain with a site up and my server logs have been showing a lot of visitors from Germany, China and other countries. The thing that has made me uncomfortable is the ip addresses from NASA, The FAA and some electronics group with a 754 in their name.
Is this cause for concern? Does the government take domain names away just because they want them? I turned down an offer to buy the name a few weeks ago, but that was a private investor I believe.
Just a lot of odd traffic recently and I don't want to deal with the men in black suits. I may just be paranoid.

Their employees browse the web, too (while at work).I wouldn't worry too much.

I've had that kind of visits too
One in particular is a bit strange, when I search the IP block owner in ARIN it returns a street address that does not seem to exist (in VA)
However, many people work for the government (even in the land of limited government), government employees also surf the web during lunchtime.

Well, it's not just the Air Force, but I have had the Army and Nasa visit as well. Funny thing is that it is not government related at all and it's just this one domain name. I started getting a lot of visits from out of the country, so thought maybe that may have triggered something. It's a little scary and I am a very paranoid person.
Their employees have hobbies, too.I'm sure this site gets a lot of traffc from government and military IPs.
I wouldn't sweat or lose sleep over it. Unless your site is promoting something like travel to Iran or Cuba (sanctions) or highly illegal activities, they won't just take the domain.

If this is adult site then it would explain the traffic and you don't need to worry about it.
a swedish webguy I "know" that frequents the same swedish webdev-place as me operates a known adult site. he received alot of government (swedish) traffic to one of his adult sites, and this made the top headlines in sweden. he could out specific branches (military and other) that were porn-surfing from work.
Well, it's not an adult site. Maybe they are interested in buying the domain who knows. I'll try to not worry about it much until I catch them going through my trash and parking down the street.![]()
Go burn another one dude.. You'll forget all about it.
