How to/Should he purchase this name?

    Hi All ,

Please read this carefully and give your views.

A friend of mine is in a family business. Assume that his late father,s name was Charles Abraham. Business is known as Cabraham Inc. Somebody owns domain cabraham.com (this is an example - not about domain cabraham.com which is available).

The address in whois of domain is fictitious , just has a valid email address. My friend sent an email to the registrant who wants an amount which my friend is willing to pay.

Now here is the real paradox. The seller wants to get paid via paypal (a yahoo address). He wants to remain annonymous. Looks like could be a disgruntled employee/ ex-employee or a jealous cousin.

Should he purchase this name (he does not want to go through WIPO). If yes how to proceed so that he does not lose money while the seller remains annonymous ?

    Thanks in advance.

Find a neutral party, such as an attorney, who would be willing to communicate with both parties while maintaining the confidentiality of the seller. Have the seller transfer the domain name to the neutral. Have the buyer transfer payment to the neutral. When both steps have been carried out, then have the neutral transfer the domain name to the buyer and the payment to the seller.

It seems to be an ex employee or disgruntled employee or a jealous relative. We are more interested in getting the name instead of finding out the identity. So escrow seems to be the best option.

Thanks to all of you for your inputs.
