I am sure by this time their lawyers have taken copies of your website to prevent you from changing anything. Push it and move on. You should be able to push it to their legal dept's email address and they can take it from there.

I own spdrs.info and Standard & Poor's wants me to:
(1) Immediately surrender or transfer McGraw-Hill the <spdrs.info> domain
name;
(2) Permanently cease and desist from any further use of, or any other mark
confusingly similar to the SPDR trademark; and
(3) Permanently cease and desist from any further use of any of our client’s
trademarks or any other marks confusingly similar
I don't plan on fighting this but how does transferring it to them work? I don't get any compensation do I? Also, spdr acronym stands for other things, too. Couldn't I just change the content of my site and keep my domain?

If my aunt had testicles, she'd be my uncle. Also, spdr acronym stands for other things, too.
The question is not how you might use the domain name in some alternate fictional universe. The question is how you were using it in THIS reality prior to notification of a dispute.
Bingo.I am sure by this time their lawyers have taken copies of your website to prevent you from changing anything.
I was driving down the road the other day at a brisk 100 MPH. As soon as I saw a cop with a radar gun, I took it down to 50 MPH. You won't believe this, but the cop then pulled me over and tried to give me a speeding ticket. I said, "Hey, speeding ticket? WTF? My car is not even moving, because you pulled me over!"

On your site, you continously mention S & P.Originally Posted by Digerati

It's too late.
Had you used the domain like the .com and .net (ppc sites), you might not
have gotten on their radar.
Now, it is very important how you surrender the domain without agreeing to
anything.
Be careful.
Would it be ok if he just 'delete' the domain, instaed of going thru the transfer process?
Just wondering?
i dont think its a good revenue earning revenue anyway
So better give the domain to them
On Buying Spree| Generics and Typos| Mostly .COM | High Multiple paid | Pm me the names |
I replied asking how to transfer the domain.
Half the time, they don't have a clue.I replied asking how to transfer the domain.

Delete the content, redirect it to some domain parking to make some $ from SE traffic, unlock it and send them them the AUTHINFO code

Very funny. If they don't know any better they will never change the nameservers once the name is pushed.Originally Posted by denny007

They will probably even not know how to initiate transfer![]()

But they don't have spdrs.com so i supose the website content has caused them to send you the letter.
"Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. We will initiate theHalf the time, they don't have a clue.
transfer of the domain name on behalf of our client, McGraw-Hill.
In the meantime, to assist us with the transfer, please: 1) unlock the
domain name (if it is locked) and 2) update the WHO IS information as
follows:"
Apparently they do.
I will redirect to sedo parking and see if they change nameservers. Good idea, jdk and denny.

Apparently they do.
Apparently they do NOT, because for transfering .info domain they need also AUTHINFO code![]()

On a lighter note, I've made $2.03 on AdSense revenues in last 2 days; probably from their legal team clicking on the links. That's about 30% of the domain payed for right there.
denny, can you explain AUTHINFO code? I initiated the transfer and it seemed like a normal .com transfer (I've never transferred .info's before).
I initiated the transfer
If you made a "push", they do not need authinfo, you should not do that, you should let THEM initiate the transfe, so they would need to pay for it (and they wpould need authinfo). It is necessary for all domain transfer except .com and .net. In GoDaddy panel it is "Auth Info Code: (sent by email)".

...oops.
Is there anyway to reverse the transfer? So I made it easier for them??
Is there anyway to reverse the transfer?
Dunno, GoDaddy is for uninformed masses, so I do not use IT.
So I made it easier for them
Yes, but there is still chance, they will not accept the transfer...
