Just bought old TM name without realising

    Hi All,
I recently won a dropped .com domain on namejet ( registered 1997) which had good PR and some great backlinks, It was originally a technology company site but looks to have been parked since about 2002, the original company is no longer around and their (US) trademark is listed as dead, however I have just found out that a huge multi-national fashion brand are using it for one of their latest additive technologies and trademarked the word (in multiple countries) in 2008, but obviously never tried to buy the (parked) domain from the owner at the time. I am not sure whether to be petrified or ecstatic.

PS, the name is a catchy 8 letter word with no hyphens and is exactly the same as the trademark, also it now has a wordpress blog on it optimised for all the original technology related inbound links

When you say "trademarked the word," do you mean that they submitted the word to be registered, or the word has been issued? There is a difference.
Bottom line, there no call for ecstasy, no need for agony. You just need good legal advice from someone like me.
