a lake domain

Hello,

I was considering a "lake domain for pay per click links.

An example could something like lakemichigan.com, or laketahoe.com or lakemichigantravel.com or laketahoepicture.com

Is there any legal concern/trademark concern here? Or can these lakes be considered generic.

Also, could I run into a problem if there a links on the sites that say..

visit lakemichigan or laketahoe hotels...etc..

thanks

Re: a lake domain

No, these aren't trademarks and the names aren't owned by anyone. That would be like saying that no one can own the domain name NewYork.com.
