Newbie

I am new to this game and have just started to register expired domains. I have a question regarding the Anti-Cybersquatting Act passed by Congress. Does the act make it illegal to register domains simply for the purpose of selling them? Or does the act simply mean you cannot register trademarked domains for the purpose of selling them? Are you supposed to be developing every domain registered?

Thank you for your answers.

i think it has to do with holding a company hostage over its domain name. It would be illegal to buy say, Ford.com with the intentions of selling it to them.

There is nothing illegal about selling domains. President Gringo is correct about selling TRADEMARKED names. However, as I indicated in another thread, if you have names similar to TMs, that would also be cybersquatting per the U.S. Courts.
