You have been sent this Notice because the records of PayPal, Inc. indicate you are a current or former PayPal account holder. Re: PayPal Loses Class Action

The form appears to be designed only for residents of USA
Maybe we should just print out the form without hitting the submit button, fill it out, sign it and send it to them?
What do you think?
or maybe wait a couple of days and see if they fix the form?
I would like to know what happens when the submit button is clicked by someone in the states who wont have phone number, state and zip errors

Re: PayPal Loses Class Action

Got an email :
"It has come to our attention that the claim form does not yet accept foreign addresses. Please be advised that the site administrator is fixing this problem. Persons living outside the United States are entitled to file claims, unless they currently reside in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, or the United Kingdom."
(The site administrator must be on an hourly rate, if it is taking this long to change the form!!)

Re: PayPal Loses Class Action

I haven't heard of it! This would be massive news if it were remotely true! Also if it were a legit company do you really thing they would have such a crappy domain name??? Think about it!

Anyway, it doesn't matter now, coz the Stat. Damage claim form has been updated to include some countries including oz.
Filled it out twice, submitted it, printed it, signed it, now just gotta buy some stamps, send em, and sit back and wait for the dividend
How much do ya reckon it will be ?
$10?
more?

Re: PayPal Loses Class Action

This is legit, there is a part of the paypal site which links to it but of course they do not put this on the front page for people to find very easy.

Re: PayPal Loses Class Action

Yes, the class action is legitimate - but I don't believe it has been settled yet - if you have a paypal account you can search their site for it, or you can contact them directly for information - you can also do a google search and a ton of articles will come up - basically - if you had issues with them refunding money, etc - you probably qualify.

Re: PayPal Loses Class Action

settlements that affect large groups of people rarely pay out enough. My old car insurance company went bankrupt and people sued cause they paid for insurance for the year upfront, $100 million was awarded to about 10 million people, and after lawyer fees, and all the other stuff each person got $1.15.

After only 1 year of waiting.

Re: PayPal Loses Class Action

Quote from the July 2004 email:

Quote:
If you make a timely, valid claim using the Short Claim Form, you will receive a payment of $50
I guess the amount needed to pay all of the short form claims exceeded the Fund. Looks like we all might get around $8.
Quote:
unless the amount needed to pay all of the Short Form claims exceeds the Short Form Fund. In that case, the Short Form Fund will be divided equally among all Short Form Claimants
