Do you have it in writing / email that he asked you to get the domain for him?
(Hopefully yes)

Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!This is bit out of the ordinary. Some year or more ago a guy based in USA said that if I caught a certain domain for him (a european tld) he would pay me an amount. He was also trying for the domain as well with certain other registrars. Well I caught it. He then failed to pay giving vague excuses. I know for a fact he has trademark in USA and UK. Now he has come back to me strongly implying some kind of TM action and seemingly "forgetting" that he asked me to catch the domain in the first place.
Any ideas what best course is ?. I am not going to let him off the money, just want to know where I stand. One other factor is that he, as US citizen, is not allowed to register said tld.

That's so messed up...good thing it's in writing!!
Offer to sell it to him for what YOU want. And offer to make the deal public too. Wouldn't want any secrets, would we?![]()

If possible, post (or PM) the trademark name.
There can and usually is multiple trademarks awarded for the same word or words.
A Trade Mark is exactly what it says...a mark used to identify your business.
How the word, words, design, or logo is used is trademarked. Not necessarily the word in and of itself.
