I recently POOLed the name PEPSICO.ca
.ca stanads for Canadian domains. I have
auction started today and it will last 24 hours.
I want to ask your advise if I am making a mistake
trying to aquire this name or not.
The bottom line is these 2 questions:
1. Aquiring this name is only asking for problems ?
2. Will I be able to sell this name?
Thanks for your time,
Provider

You'll find out soon if Pepsico wants their name back if you get it. A dispute for a .ca domain is a bit different than for com/net/org. You can find the CIRA policy here
http://www.cira.ca/en/documents/q4/C...4_en_final.txt
Also remember to read any of their other policies as they may state your limitations to register a name, especially since it is a trademark.
Good luck
Virtually no traffic.
1. Obvious problem.
2. Only pool can get away with selling this name.
Why is that? I mean why is it they are allowed to sell it without having tm probs?Originally Posted by Zoobar

might be worth a read...
I'd stay away from that domain...
Big risk Domain.,
if there is no traffic to it, I would not touch .
I would suggest getting rid of it. Maybe offer it to Pepsi Cola Canada for CAD 0.01 less than you paid Pool for it.Originally Posted by MarkMan
"Pepsi" is a Greek word - it means "digestion". I believe Tassos owns pepsi.gr
However, PepsiCo is a clear reference to the Pepsi Corporation and as such you have no case.
HUGE risk. Delete it ASAP.
Agree.. your intention when you bought it was because it had the pepsico name if you are honest with yourself
there is no room for confusion here.. be lucky that you are not currently remortgaging your house to pay for any court cases

Thats an interesting question... I would love to know also. I have noticed some of the other Companies reselling their dropped names.. that have some serious TradeMark IssuesOriginally Posted by jazzpetals
Anyone have an answer to this... I personally dont think they have a right, and believe that they are violating TM Law
