DNF$: 4,721 | Pool and Dodora hijacking names I recently won a domain through Pool, which used Dodora to cath it. Apparently Pool never paid Dodora, so they hijacked the name, even though I already sold it.
Pool is only offering to provide me a credit at Pool for the initial amount I paid. They won't even return the money to my credit card, so I guess I will have to contact my CC company and request a chargeback so I can refund the money to my buyer.
Has anyone else experienced this or have any alternative suggestions as to what I can do? Pool's response
"The registrar that was used when we captured the domain *****.com is
Dodora, unfortunately since then this registrar has taken it upon
themselves to take all domains that were acquired by Pool.com away from the
registrants over a dispute they have with us. When we learned this we did
move as many domains away from Dodora as possible, but unfortunately it
does appear it was too late to move *****.com (probably because we
acquired your domain within the past 60 days and transfers are still locked
at the registry).

DNF$: 3,323 | Re: Pool and Dodora hijacking names Pool was caught in a very difficult position concerning Dodora, and has done a good job of recovering names that were caught prior to the 60 day rule. Here's what happened:
1. Dodora was sued in Texas, and defaulted in that case.
2. A court-appointed receiver for the Texas plaintiff levied against Dodora's registrar accreditation, and entered into a deal whereby Directi essentially ran Dodora for several months.
3. Dodora brought a separate action in Massachusetts against Directi, and has temporarily regained control of its accreditation.
Out of misplaced revenge, Dodora took control of a large number of domain names which were caught under contract to Pool. Pool was able to obtain control of domains that had been registered prior to the 60-day registry transfer restriction, but Dodora remains in control of more recently caught names, and is claiming they weren't paid for names caught during the time when Dodora's tag was under the control of Directi. Pool didn't pay Dodora because Pool was supposed to pay Dodora.
So, with respect to those names, Pool is stuck in the middle of a legal morass. Penalizing Pool for that situation is similarly misplaced - they had no ability to control Dodora's outrageous behavior. Dodora is not being completely honest about the circumstances under which they hi-jacked your name.

You should be receiving a followup contact from Pool on this issue.

DNF$: 4,721 | Re: Pool and Dodora hijacking names **UPDATE**
I was contacted by Taryn Naidu from Pool, who explained the situation and offered to refund my money. I appreciate the fact Pool is attempting to do the right thing, under the circumstances.
Dodora has agreed to sell the name to my buyer, which will be paid for out of the refund coming from Pool.
It's unfortunate for everyone involved, but it finally worked itself out.
